New member to stage III but not to BC
Hello ladies,
I found out in December that I have any another recurrence. This time it was in one lymph node on my good side and the biopsy came back positive in the skin by my mastectomy scar line. I have a port placemnet scheduled for Monday afternoon and will start Navelbine and Herceptin.I hope and pray this kick this cancer to the curb for the last time, First dx'd feb 06 did chemo, herceptin. rads lumpectomy. 2nd recurrence had nmastectomy with more chemo, 3rd recurrence had reincission and more chemo and 4th recurrence had a lymph node removed and skin tested for mets. both came back positive. Lucky me. Onc. is pretty positive about this cocktail and hopes it's the answer. I just need a break!!! Anyone have good results with navelbine/ herceptin.
Thanks for listening
Jill

Jill - oh my goodness - what a crumby time you have had! I can't give any advice on the drugs you are taking, but just wanted to welcome you here. Hope you kick that cancer back to the curb this time.

I don't know about those drugs either but welcome, I'm sure someone will come along shortly that will have some info for you.

Hi Jill - You so deserve a break. Good to hear your oncologist is confident about the cocktail. Time to kick cancer in the butt for good!!!

Well first treatment kickin this beast to the curb. I was really worried about them accessing my new port, but the onc nurse was wonderful!! Didn't hurt at all. I applied emla cream an hour before and felt nothing. They started the decadron and benadryl. The benadryl makes me real annsie, can't get comfortable, and can't fall asleep. Entire treatment time was about 90 minutes, but all further treatments will be about 40 minutes. We came home and I fell asleep for about 4 hours. I think it is the benadryl. Today I feel great no SE's. Woohoo! Dr. says we will continue this treatment for 8 treatments and then scans. I'm hoping for clean scans by end of February, cause I've got a trip to Hawaii planned
