I love the outdoors. I love working in my garden during the spring, filling the garden with beautiful flowers, watching the ladybugs fly from plant to plant, listening to the birds as they fight over the feeder and feed their little babies. Going to the beach during the summer and waking up to the sounds of the waves as they crash against the shoreline and the smell of salt water. And crazy as it may seem I love to clean - guess it's that OCD in me.

Honestly, what relaxes me is running. I've been running for 8 months now and I've grown to love it! Crazy, I know, but it's true. I find that when I'm depressed or moody or just feeling low I go for a run and it just does wonders for me. Aside from that doing fun things with my family is especially rewarding to me. We've been hiking a lot lately and I find that it just makes me feel really, really good.

cycling is what i love most; all i have to do is get on my bike...and look at the coachella valley andi feel sooo good i could cry. it is just so beautiful. road runners, hawks and palm trees make me smile. what comforts me the most is cuddling with my kitties...chatting with my sister...and hanging out with my friends and loved ones. oh, i love to make soup. hmm hmmm good.
nice thread apple**

The best one is when my little boy (will be 5 in a couple weeks) says, "I love you, mama" just out of the blue. When it's warmer I love to work in my yard and my little gardens (flowers, herbs, & veggies). There is such a great sense of satisfaction to sit back with a cold drink after a day of yard work and admire how nice it all looks, and even better to go in and make dinner with fresh from our garden corn and tomatoes - yum!

I love to sit in the sun in the summer on my deck - hoping to get a boat this summer.
I do love to run with my friends, I am really digging spin classes.
-
Watching cartoons with my granddaughter snuggled up in a chair, she smells so sweet and she is a snuggle bunny
-
Picking up my daughter from pre school.
She is always so happy to see me, and always is excited to show me what she has made. Today she brought home something made from pipe cleaners and tissue paper.....as soon as we got home she ran to the fridge to put it up.

Been freezing my sorry ass off all day--the mountains of Western Carolina have just broken a record for number of days below freezing, and this is tempering my reply tonight... ask me this in the summer and it would be a completely different response.I love to cook comfort food, go to the pub and schmooze with everybody, get in my bathrobe and snuggle under the comforter with Flanagan, my big fuzzy Maine coon. Am taking oil painting classes. Have already done water colors for years and thought I would not like oils, but my teacher is absolutely wonderful.
In the summer love to play golf, swim outside, barbecue, tend my garden of flowers and herbs, sit on my screened porch and listen to the frogs in the lake,,, Yuck, I hate winter, I get way too sedentary.
-
I love baking, cookies, pastries, etc. I love my Maine Coon, too, weeza. She is smaller than most because of a very hard life as a kitten. She's a stray who was rescued, brought home from the shelter by my daughter (who volunteered there). She's blind in one eye. She's got a personality like no other cat (we take care of 11 cats right now), very special! I love to swim, but must admit I've gotten out of the habit since my diagnosis. My husband is an incredible cook; I love eating his cooking! I love sitting in the sun in our just-built (we built it ourselves) sun room. This is getting long but.... I love sitting on the beach, the waves, the gulls, and we can see the whales as they migrate, they pass by close enough to the shore for us to see. Spent many days during chemo on that beach.
-
My favourite thing in the world to do is to garden - not too easy in the winter!
-
I love to read. To get completely lost in a book and not notice my surroundings (and forget about BC for some short period of time!). One of the hardest parts of chemo was that I couldn't read at all - the drugs just messed with my brain and I had no reading comprehension. It's slowly coming back now and I'm so enjoying being able to read a bit every night before I go to sleep.
-
I was reading all the responses without a really clear answer for myself. Everytime I read a new one, I was saying, "Oh yeah. I love to do that, too." Used to do a lot of cooking, reading, gardening, hiking, knitting, decorating. My job is "creative" so it takes a lot of that kind of energy out of me. I don't have as much as I used to when I get home.
But the holidays brought the best feeling, recently. We had lots of family dinners. I really do love sitting around the table with assorted relatives and friends...telling stories and generally having a good time.
-
I love the sounds of my 5 little kids laughing and having fun (no fighting or whining). It just really hits home how lucky I am to have what I have and 'be healthy'. 2009 was a terrible year and a long battle but it wasn't a complete wash as my twins were born in 2009 and I couldn't imagine life without them. Nothing better than seeing my older kids just cuddling up with the babies and the babies loving it. Nothing better.
-
My passions are animal rescue and healthy cooking. I volunteer for our local golden retreiver rescue organization and three of our current dogs are rescues.
I'm a nut for trying new healthy recipes! My husband is a pickier eater than I am, so it's a challenge to find things we'll both enjoy.
I also love reading mysteries, watching chick flicks and being with my friends.
