Why choose Alternative Cancer Treatment?

Options
It's great to see a group of people that are so passionate and support people with cancer. I feel like I should do my part and give my support to all the you out there. I would like to share the experience with my aunt that could indeed help. People don't realize it's importance! My aunt has been thru cancer and she sought after natural cancer remedies. Although they did not play any major role in curing cancer,
it helped ALOT with coping with the symptoms and signs caused by cancer and its treatments like fatigue, anxiety, nausea and vomiting, pain, stress, etc... those were all lessened by the alternative treatments. You can find a copy of the book my aunt used here

Just remember use it as a supplement to your treatments not as a substitute. Be strong!

. We choose alternative approach because we are looking for ways to build our immune system to either fight cancer or to prevent it.

The body is smart and it knows how to heal itself. My b.c surgeon said this. :)

I could not have said it any better.

The body may know how to heal itself-but clearly in the majorty of cases, it doesn't heal itself. This is why I am so frightened about the whole spectrum of alternative medicine. At my stage (4), it would't do much for me in terms of treatment, but may help with s/effects to that-exactly as Karoline suggested.

But for those of you convinced that this is the way for you, let me share a story....

A dear friend was diagnosed with primaries at the same time as me-1996. I opted for mastectomy + chemo. She opted for natural all the way. I couldn't begin to tell you the number/name of all her supplements! But her main "tool" was mistletoe-this much I do know. Anyhow, we both responded well to treatment, and neither of us had any further problems with cancer until 2007. In June she was diagnosed with brain mets-again opted for homeopathic treatment. Sadly it didn't help at all this time, and she died several months later. The day she died, I was in hospital, awaiting a lung biopsy and a talc pleurodosis procedure. I had just been diagnosed with mets to pleura (and subsequently liver and bone)I have been on chemo ever since.

I find it uncanny that our initial treatment plans were at opposite ends of the spectrum-and yet we both had 12 years cancer free. Even knowing this, I'm stll sceptical as to how much it can achieve-although am delighted it worked so well for my dear friend. Just thought you might be interested!
