its all about me
At least today!
945 onc appt - I have no issues or concerns so it should be a short appt. Blood work will be back in a couple of days. Prayers for low tms please.
1pm lymphedema therapist - Good news is that the swelling goes down each day (basically on its own) so I am hopeful that this will be able to be controlled without too much difficulty. The pain in my thumb and wrist (from cellulitis) is better each day too.
I am working from home in my jammies this am and am planning on going to the gym between my two appointments today before coming home to work in jammies again and then make a real dinner tonight!
ps - prayers please.

ps - its about DC mom today too!

Mary- I'll be praying with you as my onc appt is today at 11:45. I need to schedule with my physical therapist to check for lymphedema (I have so much numbness I am never sure).
These appointments always put me on the edge. Praying praying praying...

Well, it is a busy Doctor Day today!
Sitting with you both at your appointments. I can go fetch the coffee.
Remember, this is the Year of Us! There will be good news only this year for everyone.
Hope it all goes well.
-
Just chiming in with hopes and prayers for good news at your appointments today, Everyminute and DC Mom. :-)

Praying everything goes OK Mary and DCMom!
My 3-month checkup is this Friday, and I'm getting the jitters already. Also, my non-rads breast has swollen up like a balloon over the last 10 days (I was out of town in NY) so I'm a bit concerned. It's also bruising so I think I somehow injured it but I have no feeling there so I don't remember! Could be my 3-year old toddler???
Anyway, sending good vibes your way! As Kerry said, it's our year and only good news allowed!

Mary and Dc
I offer prayers and peace today that it is a very peaceful day, one more step towards letting go as you get calming news on your tests.
-
Positive vibes are being sent your way!

Thanks ladies
Onc appt went well , white count is still a tad (barely) low - other than that all looked good. Tumor markers and vitamin d results will be back tomorrow or next day . got h1n1 shot.
lymphedema therapist said wasnt much swelling and that I should start wearing sleeve (and glove) while exercising - maybe that will even help. Infection seems much better. She thought it was odd that I was having so many problems with so little swelling and being active and not over weight - sigh.
DC Mom - check in!
-
(((HUGS))) coming your way and for DC Mom!!!
-
Well an uneventful appointment...except for my tears. Discussed an anti-depressant again (I cry alsmost every time I visit). I told them I was usually fine, but the appointments just really get to me. I had no blood work results and will only get a call for bad news....soooo no news...no news...no news....that's all good news.
Mary so happy to hear your day was "uneventful" as well.
Thank you for all the good wishes you all are my rocks.
-
Great to hear, boring, boring, boring. Best kind of news!
Mary - hope the sleeve helps your arm. I tell ya, if it aint one thing....
-
Glad to here about uneventful appts DC mom & everyminute.
Mary - Is it recommended to wear a sleeve while exercising as a precaution to prevent lymphodema? Do you for sure have lymphodema? Is it painful?
-
you all are doing well, hang in there. this is hard stuff; but you CAN and you WIll work through all of this hard stuff.
-
I do have mild lymphedema - some mild pitting (skin stays pressed down when you push on it) and measures slightly bigger than other arm. Also - cellulitis is prone when there is lymphedema so there is another clue.
There is two schools of thoughts on whether to wear a sleeve for a preventative - I have been wearing it as a preventative for flying but not for excersise - now I will.
So far my only pain has been from the infections themselves.
-
Awesome news on great appts. both of you! Mary, hopefully wearing the sleeve will help prevent more issues with the arm.
-
Mary and DCMom,
I haven't been around for a few days, so I'm sorry I haven't checked in earlier with you. I hope that things continue to get better for you. Mary, you say it best when you say "Sigh." Ugh works for me, too.
When you come down to see me and we both go running together, people will think we are displaying the latest fitness trends in running when they see us with those sleeves. As crazy as it sounds, I feel protected when I'm wearing my sleeve, and it's comfortable. I wear a sleeve/gauntlet when I exercise.
As Dora says, we gotta "just keep swimming....".
Love
Bobbie

My arm tingles when I run so my physical therapist said to just wear the sleeve (and to make sure I always wear the glove so I don't puddle at the hand). We should all go designer and get out for a run sometime. We would look like pros and others would look and wonder what kind of performance enhancing gear we were wearing.
-
Every and DCmom...uneventful appt....that is good......
Jacqueline....will be thinking of you Friday.....
Do the appt ever get easier? Probably not!!!! But when they appt are less frequent less time to worry...I'm still on a 3 month schedule....and I'm going on 4 years.....could almost count the days!!
Hugs all around. Karen
