Rediagnosed with a baby also
I just got rediagnosed 2 weeks ago or so. I'm 36 and have a 5 month old. I was dx the first time 7/07, had a lumpectomy and did dd AC x4 Taxol x4 and 33 rads. First routine tests after came back clear. I got pregnant and had my son this past July so I missed the next round of routine tests. Just had them done and mri came back with something and biopsy confirmed bc back. The ct showed something on my liver but they can't biopsy so we don't know if the cancer is spread so now I'm having abraxane and FEC chemo starting next week and then a double mastectomy after if all goes as planned. I'm trip neg. The onc told me if the cancer did spread to my liver that I prob have less than 2 yrs to live. Merry Christmas, right??
I never really went into the young womens forum the first time around, but now with a baby I feel so alone and now I see there are others going through this, too.

Hi paxton,
Hi I am sorry you are going through this. I am not your age (i am 53) but I wanted to let you know that mysister was diagnosed at 38 and was er- pr- (they did not have HER testing back then) and then 2 years later she was rediagnosed again w a second different breast cancer and also in a different breast. That was 17 and 15 years ago respectively. She had chemo and radiation both times and is doing extremely well to this day. I was diagnosed two years ago and although i was tested negative for the gene there is obviously something going on. I too had it in both breasts. I hope the best for you but wanted you to know about someone who has been there and back and doing well. Also there is a great yound lady who is currently pregnant on the Stage 3 boards. Her screen name is PureE. I am sure she would be there for you also.
My best,
Nancy

I just found your post about diagnosed with a baby. When I was diagnosed last month, my baby was 6 weeks old. He was the one who actually found the lump. His little head it the tumor and it hurt..so I rubbed the spot and ...WOW, was I surprised to feel the lump. So within 2 weeks I was having my first chemo.
Just wanted to say Hi, I hope all is well with you.

I was "rediagnosed" with metastaic breast cancer when my baby was 9 months old and I was 37 years old. My original breast cancer occurred in 2000 (I was 28).
I hope that your cancer hasn't spread to your liver - or anywhere else. But if it has, I just wanted to tell you that those statistics are old and outdated. There are plenty of us with "mets" that have lived more than the 2-3 years they tell you about.
A lot of stuff you read about on the interent can be scary..........but these forums are good. They tell you honestly what things are like (the good, the bad and the ugly). I have been living with mets for 18 months now (it went to my lung and bone) and have no intention on going anywhere soon!
Hang in there............PM me if you want. It is very stressful trying to absorb all of this with a young child at home.
My best,
Jessica

I too have just been "rediagnosed" with mets in my liver and bones, three and a half years after my first diagnosis. My baby boy is 3 months old and I'm 33.
I just wanted to say hi, I don't know anyone with a baby and mets. It's nice to hear that I'm not alone.
