I finally got my final path report and there are things I don't get.

Is cells approximaterly all of my tumour cells exhibit variable strong nuclear estrogen receptor expression. Allred score is 5 +3 =8.

So this means I am 98% er pos? This is good right?

For Pr is says only 5% of the tumour cells exhibit strong progesterone receptor expression 2+3 =5.

So very little protesterone 5%-This is bad right?

It says none of the tumor cells exhibit any staining of their cell membrane (score 0) indicating they do not express epidermal growth factor receptor.

So this means what?

Approximately 20% of the invasive tumor cells in the more pooly differentiated focus (lacking pr staning) exhibit weak to moderate stating of their cell membrane ( score 2+) indicating that they move overexpress ner2/neu onoportein.

I have no idea what a fish score is?

Any help greatly appreciated!!!!

Pure, a fish score is another Her2 test.  It's either positive or negative.  If you score +2 on the other test, they do the fish score to make sure of the Her2 status.

There are two tests commonly used for Her2.  The FISH test measures gene amplification. The other test I know of is the IHC test that measures protein overexpression.  A score of 2 by the IHC test is what they call "equivocal" so they use the FISH test to decide if it is negative.  Your FISH test shows negative. Looks like you are Her2 negative for sure, Jen.  You are also Her1 (epidermal growth factor) negative since your score was 0.  If you are strongly ER positive you will be given endocrine therapy.  There is a lot of controversy right now about whether the PR being low will affect your response to this therapy.  Nobody knows, so even those of us who are PR- are treated with endocrine therapy.
