Introducing Myself, Finally...

I'm sure I'm not alone when I tell you that I'm a regular visitor to this site and have been following along with everyone for months, but have never posted. I wish I found all of you when I was first diagnosed, instead I found a lot of depressing info that scared me away from connecting with anyone. All's well that ends well though! KerryMac, I often identify with you. PureE, you've come a long way since your initial postings. Bugs, and all those out there who are a few years out, I hope you know how much inspiration you offer to newbies (that and those awesome Survivor Stories that I read at least once a week!) Myself, well, you can see my stats in my signature. I was diagnosed after my mom (an 11-year, stage 4 ovarian cancer and 2-year breast cancer survivor) and I both tested positive for the BRCA gene - and the story there is strange enough that I think it was serendipitous. Anyway, it's been a long journey so far, but I feel fortunate that I'm here, that the awesome APRN at my OB-GYN took me and the BRCA finding seriously and pushed for an MRI when both a mammogram and ultrasound found nothing, that the cancer was actually found, and that I emerged relatively unscathed from treatment. I have my challenges like everyone else, but I'm turning 40 next week and I'm all about turning over new leaves. SO, hi ladies. It's nice to meet all of you. Looking forward to our continued and enduring connection...

azs40, This is a great place to let inhabit your mind! Lots of practical advice, optimism, and a bit of humor. I want to leave you with this thought today: Your diagnosis is similar to mine except my tumor was much larger. I am well, seven years later. Like you, mammograms and us's did not detect it.

I look forward to watching your connection with us flourish.

azs40 ~ Welcome and we're glad you have begun to post.  You'll find everyone here is a supportive and loving group, and will be here for you when you are at your darkest points as well as when you are sharing info or something positve. You share a similar diagnosis to me as well as other stage 3ers here.

Welcome to our family.  We may bicker or disagree sometimes, but we are strong in our determination to help one another through all of this.  I am two, almost three years out.  Also wanting to be here another 7, and then another 7.....

Welcome! I like to think we're a fun bunch of gals considering we've been to you-know-where and back and we can still find humor in the whole sordid affair.  I hope that you find a lot of comfort and peace here!

Hi there, azs40.  You are almost a veteran rather than a newbie.  I'm sure you've got lots to add here, and we welcome you with open arms.  I didn't find this site right away, wish I had, but I'm so glad to be here now.  It's great that you are posting now, we'll be hearing from you often, I hope.  G.
