Baby Update and Personal Update
So baby is good-big and my fluid looks great.
So I could go full term but I am scheduled right now for induction on the 18th of January. Night time sucks-can't sleep b-c I am so big and have tons of indigestion. If I move I am in pain while I sleep. I pretty much have to sleep straight up. Butttt I am thankful as things could be so much harder.
They took the decatron out of my chemo-I had chemo Tuesday at 5:00 pm and as of right now I have had NOTHING. NO SE"S-NO DEPRESSION. In fact yesterday morning and this morning I feel really really good. (notice no posts of utter terror and fear this week?:)
I did get tired yesterday afternoon so I am assuming I will this afternoon as well but this is a far far different reaction then when I have the decatron. If I wasn't prego I would feel completly and totally normal which SCARES ME-----They are pumping poision in my body. Why aren't I sick???
We will see what happens next week-my dosage is broken up 96 mgs(I think) this week and then again next week. I was told that was more then most people get, it's just broken up over 2 weeks.
So it does build up so I should be more tired next week.
Consulsion-Decatron is an evil drug and I am scared that my chemo is not working:)
My blood work is perfect infact another thing that scares me is when I started my platlets was 315 (normal) drpped to 250 over the course of the months and is now back up to 280. How could it be going up? I did notice it started to rise when I stated the wheat grass and juicing but rising? They nurse was like "wow the nuestra shots really work for you." Ummm I don't take shots....
Anyway I guess it's great about the SE's but still I feel like I should have something more then tiredness and hair loss.
So I am very thankful though that I have had minimal se's and now with decatron gone the severe depression seems to be gone.
Soo sooo thankful.

Jen - so happy that everything is going great with the baby. Think of the great stories you can tell him when he is bigger - not the usual "when Mummy was pregnant" stories for him!
Glad to hear you are feeling well too. Amazing what a difference the no steroid thing is....really, those pills are evil. Don't worry about the Chemo not working - they always say there is no correlation between SE's and effectiveness. And, your hair did fall out, so it is doing something! I bet that baby of yours is protecting you.
Anyhow, hang in there. Think of that lovely baby of yours! Oh, I want another one!! I love babies....well, impossible now, but you know!
You will be glad that you are having your last chemo for a while. You're at the half way mark and doing so well!
-
I'm so happy to hear this.
I think the pregnancy has alot to do with lessening the side effects. You should also be getting periodic scans for a while to check for disease.
-
Hi Jen, Great great news. Don't worry about your very minimal S/E, has absolutley nothing to due with the efficaccy. Also scans are not indicated until after you are done with treatment.
Overall , you are doing really really well, and soon you'll have boo boo baby in your arms, and this time will be a memory.
-
Good news Pure.
-
Jen, Glad to hear that the baby is doing well. It's time to hear some good news for a change huh?
The 18th of January!! What a perfect day!!! It's my Birthday!!! I could use some good news on my birthday this year as last year I was recovering from my mastecomy!
-
Congratulations on your good news and being off the evil drug. Pregnancy has it's own list of issues and so does chemo. When you mix them together....who knows! What a blessing you have inside of you. Give your tummy and yourself a gentle hug from me..

Oh Jen I am so happy you are off the decadron and feeling great! I can't wait to see boo boo baby pictures!
-
Jenn - so glad to hear the baby and you are doing well. Decadron is terrible, I'm so glad they let you skip it. We're all waiting for the new baby.............. you're going to have a full (cyber) waiting room!
-
Great News Jen. It will be all over before you know it and you will be holding that beautiful baby in your arms.
-
Glad you & rugbug are doing well. Did I miss something, do you know the sex and have you picked out any names yet?
-
You and baby are without doubt a tough combo! Don't worry about no SE's, it means nothing. Glad you are feeling good!
-
Oh, I can remember those sleepless nights while pregnant. And being sooo tired. You are my hero to be doing all this with treatments to boot. When baby is born, will you hold him/her up against the computer screen so I can smell that awesome baby smell?
Geez, I really do need a grandchild!
-
I really can't wait for this baby to come........what a joy!
Life is good......we all have so much to be thankful for......glad you feel so good.

I chose the name Killian which means small and mighty and thought was fitting considering all he has been through.
After deciding I found it he is a saint in the Catholic Church ( I am catholic) and his feast day (the day he is celebrated) is my birthday. I thought that was a good sign:)
-
I love the name and it does fit him to a T, small and mighty sweet little guy
-
I should mention my other kids are Noe', Jude, and Ireland so I the pressure was on to find something a little different.lol I couldn't do something like Jeff. He might feel like the odd ball out.
-
I love your kids names!! They are creative in a good way. Killian's feast day being your birthday is a good sign. He is your own personal angel/saint. I wish you the best.
-
what a gorgeous name Jen.
glad you dropped the decadron.. i saved mine.. just in case i need a super burst of energy for ubercleaning. i'll probably throw them away..

With all the crap that we go through, all the fretting and worrying, all the "sneak peeks" at death, it was so refreshing to read about a pregnancy. I am sorry that you have the indigestion and other preggo problems, but enjoy them as much as you can as it so sad when you realize it is the last one.
Please keep updating us with preggo stuff. Baby kicking well? Have you washed his little teeny tiny clothes yet? Does it smell like "baby"? Can you believe how tiny the socks are?
Here are some good preggo vibes.... and screw the bc.
-
Thanks guys!!! Yes, my own personal angel I like that.
To be honest I am scared to give birth. I have only known bc while being preganant. We have been together through all of this so it will be odd-I know I will feel much better but odd.
I am also scared I will fall apart emotionally when I see him-wondering how long I will get to be with him.
-
Wow. You pick out a great name and then find out about the other connections. A little mystical. I like that!
I concur with everyone else - kick the steroids out the door! How do some of these people ever take them by choice??? Isn't it great to feel like your back on familiar ground with your own emotions again? It's hard enough for us women to figure out when we're going to get all emotional -- we spend our whole life try to figure it out -- and then we're given these drugs that give us emotions mixed in a Cuisinart. Argh!
I am looking forward to your posting his pictures and letting us know that he has 10 fingers and 10 toes, 2 beautiful eyes, a cute little button nose, etc. You know the drill! And it never gets old! Babies are so amazing. Had my first grandbaby on Halloween. Finn. Needless to say, he is a cute bugger!
-
I just had to say that it's nice to hear someone talk about feast days. I grew up in a Catholic family with 8 kids. We celebrated every ones feast day as a special day that we could choose what we had for dinner that night. We are all old now ( over 40) and still remember each others feast day and what their favorite meal was! Good luck with your baby!
-
very cool-I might have to implement that:)
-
Great to hear you're doing well! Decatron sucks, glad you're off it!!!
-
You will fall apart emotionally when you send this last one to college.......Believe it.....you will be there.....
Love, love the name......so thrilled for you.

Thanks everyone! And yes Shana Decatron does such-I was pretty sick in bed with extreme fatigue for about 36 hours but other then that the chemo was breeze. I wish so bad I would have known this 4 treamtents ago:)
-
Thinking of you and hoping that you and baby Killian are doing well. As your delivery date comes near, I hope that you are comfortable.
