Tumor Markers

I am concerned about my tumor markers. Before I began treatment, my markers were tested and the results were as follows: CEA 17.1 and CA 27.29 41. After three treatments, my markers were tested again. CEA dropped to 3.5 but CA 27.29 went up to 64. Has this happened to anyone else.? A nurse told me that these markers can be influenced by other things in the body.

    tmccl,

I saw that you responded to the tumor marker thread that I started and that you created a new one.  I'm still looking for answers, too.  Are you receiving TCH?  That is what I am on, and a couple of others from this board also had their tumor markers go up while doing TCH.

I do not have the same tumor marker tests that you do... but I was told the scores can go up during treatment as "dead cells" slough off and raise the scores.

    Best wishes for good numbers.
