I am scared and I need to connect with you all

Hi Ladies,
I posted this message under another topic. I am re-posting since I have found this group. I have been given incredible support already from an amazing group of women but I want to go ahead and connect with you ladies IF I get the news that I am dreading so much next week.
I had a diagnostic mammogram last Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving) and an ultrasound. I have the report from the radiologist. It says BI-RAD Category 5: Highly suggestive of Malignancy...Palpable abnormality corresponds to an irregular shadowing mass 11 o'clock in the left breast measuring 1.3x1.1x2.1 cm with marked posterior acoustic shadowing. Ill-defined hypoechoic solid mass.
I've done some reading and I know this sounds bad. I have an ultrasound guided core needle biopsy scheduled for Monday afternoon, and then I am supposed to follow up with a general surgeon (not breast specialist) who I met with Tuesday of this week.
I have an 8 month old baby girl that I just got done breastfeeding (that's when I found the lump). I am so scared and I need some support. I'm happy I found this website. If anyone has had a similar experience (as far as the radiologist report), please tell me what to expect next. I need someone to tell it to me straight. I am a new mother, and yes I'm scared, but I HAVE to know what to prepare for. Thanks in advance for any information that you all can provide.

Hi Newmommy.....I feel your fear. I just wanted to pop in and give you a big (((hug))) and let you know there will be others who come along that can help you. You've come to the right place. These boards are just loaded with very smart and informative women who can answer most of your questions. Someone is always around, so when you get to feeling like you need company, just come to these boards. We're all here for each other. It's a very unique sisterhood!! We understand each other.
Breathe deep, kiss that sweet new baby, and just following along doctor's orderes. You'll be fine!! You'll be helping someone else out in a few months, I'm just sure of it.
God Bless you and your family!!

Hi newmommy, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I can't offer much guidance on the rad report. I did my mammo, US, and biopsy all in one day. I would try to go to a surgeon that specializes in the breast if possible. I'm sure the place where you got your mammogram should be able to refer you to someone.
Good luck and prayers to you and your family

Hi newmommy,
I send up prayers as you go through what may be before you. You must feel "a plate very full" right now and rightfully so. Your lil one is so precious!!
While I don't know info about your Radiologist report, just know you are not in this alone. Post often.

Newmommy- I just wanted to send hugs to you because finding the lump is so scary. It has been since December when you posted and I too wanted to check to see how you are doing.

Newmommy - I know your fear only too well, although I am older than you and not a new mommy. I pray that this will be benign, but if it should not turn out that way, I assure you we will all help you every step of the way. I see that you are in GA. I am too. In Marietta. I used Breast Cancer Services, in Atlanta, GA - a group of all female breast surgeons and radiologists that are excellently schooled and have wonderfuls reputations and creditentials. They are located directly across the street from Northside Hospital, if these are areas you are near. I strongly - and I can't say this enough - suggest you put your self, if the need arises, in the hands of a BREAST SURGEON - please. PM me if you need any further info. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I will be checking on you, so please post the outcome. Try to take some deep breaths and know this is the most difficult time for you. You have a lot of arms to hold you during this time. Your baby is beautiful!
