Hi I just got done with my radiation on October 30 and went right into H1N1.  After a month of feeling terrible, I don't cough any more but I am still really tired.  I went to the Med Onc today to talk about tamoxifen and he brought up the fact that I have a septated cyst on my left ovary and there is a possibility of cancer there so I am getting an US next tuesday.  Has anyone out there ever had septated cyst (10 cm) on the ovary, is over 55 yoa and it was just a cyst or has anyone out there been told they also have ovarian cancer besides breast cancer?  I feel like it is just a cyst but my luck has not been good recently.  Should I be more worried?  Or should I just take a deep breath and remain calm.  They knew about the ovarian cyst in May when I was first diagnosed with BC and I feel if it was imperative, they would have done something then.  any help would be appreciated.  I just want to be healthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Brookside!

I´ve never had a cyst like the one you describe so I can't comment on that, but generally speaking, anytime anything out of the ordinary comes up on tests for someone with a history of BC, they always want to find out for sure what it is. Better safe than sorry.

About six years ago a routine ultrasound showed a 0.8 cm blip on my liver and my onc sent me for an MRI right away.Scared me to death. Turned out it was just a hemangioma (sort of like a skin mole). I still have it, and it´s still 0.8 cm.

So yes, take a deep breath and remain calm. Worry about it only to the extent that you don´t forget to get it checked out. Cross bridges only when you come to them.

    Hugs,

    Lisa
