How long after Chemo

I am doing chemo right now and was told I will have to do radiation next. I was wondering how long after chemo ended did you all start your radiation treatments. Did you have to wait or was it right after chemo ended?

I have the same question. My mom have an appointment with her onc. at Dec 18 and I'm not sure if it's OK to wait till then. I have read in this forum, that usually the rads must begin about 2-4 weeks after chemo ends.

I think its ususally about 3-4 weeks.  In my case, my last chemo was Nov 24.  I am now scheduled for radiation on Dec 21.  They like to make sure you have recovered from chemo before starting radiation.  I could have started it a week earlier but I thought why not give myself a little extra time to recover.

My onc is recommending radiation one week after my last Taxol.  So, no break for me.  Oh well, the sooner I will be done with this junk.

Thanks Chinablue- we have about the same diagnosis and only about a week apart. How many Taxols  and did you start yet?

Mine was exactly 3 weeks.

tamlyn - I have completed 4 AC treatments. My onc has me on 12 Taxol treatments and after today I will have 7 more to go.  I am just starting to think about interviewing radiation oncologists and finding out if their offices will accomodate my work schedule.  Good luck with everything.
