    When I want to quote another person's post in my reply, the result is very confusing to read -

    who said what?  where does the quoted portion end and the new post begin?

    Is there an easy way to do this that I am missing? If not, is there a way to improve this feature on the forum?

    Pill, your question has been sitting here for quite awhile without a response; so maybe I could suggest something.

    You said this:

    "When I want to quote another person's post in my reply, the result is very confusing to read -  who said what?  where does the quoted portion end and the new post begin?  Is there an easy way to do this that I am missing? If not, is there a way to improve this feature on the forum?"

    One way to set apart a quote is, of course, to use quotation marks, and put blank lines before and after the quoted material.  In addition, though, you can put the quoted material in italics to set it apart even more:

    "When I want to quote another person's post in my reply, the result is very confusing to read -  who said what?  where does the quoted portion end and the new post begin?  Is there an easy way to do this that I am missing? If not, is there a way to improve this feature on the forum?"

    Still another way you can set apart quoted material is use some sort of marks or symbols at the start and end of the quoted material:

    +++++++++++start quote+++++++++++++++

    "When I want to quote another person's post in my reply, the result is very confusing to read -  who said what?  where does the quoted portion end and the new post begin?  Is there an easy way to do this that I am missing? If not, is there a way to improve this feature on the forum?"

    +++++++++++end quote+++++++++++++++

    I don't think there is a "feature" on the forum that will make quoting any easier.  Maybe someone else will come along and offer other suggestions.

    Thanks, Otter.

    I will try using italics - that example, along with the lines,  looks very clear.

    I had seem some folks using bold text and that was not very helpful...

    It's just strange, most other forums I've been on have more advanced features in that regard, so it is  easier to use and read.

    Sorry that I haven't gotten to this question. I agree that using italics seems to work the best. We really don't have a feature currently.

    Sorry!
