Hello everyone! My story is a little different because I had my simple mastectomy before they knew I had cancer. I had suffered from very very painful breasts and very hard lumps, I had two of the lumps removed on my right side between 20-22 and they were never cancer never abnormal. I went back six months after my last surgery to have another lump removed and the dr. recommended the mastectomy. Long story short...I fought the insurance co, my parents, and had the surgery. Two weeks after the surgery I got a call saying I was positive for DCIS. The drs said no further treatment was necessary. I know I am very lucky but I'm still dealing with a lot of issues. I got married in between everything and had complications that ended up making me have 4 other surgeries. I have ZERO family history but the drs are recommending being tested for the gene...I'm scared as hell! It's almost been a year since I found out and I think I have more anexity now then I did then!
