Port Flip-flopping Over

I had my port put in last August for chemo.  It is on my right side.  The surgeon said he tied it down with a stitch to keep it from rolling over.  But that stitch must be long gone because if I sleep on my right side, many times I wake up with the bottom of the port facing my skin!  I know because the correct side has three very pronounced bumps and the other side is smooth and feels a lot larger.  It isn't hard to manipulate it back to the correct side.  I'm just worried it will get twisted so many times that that tube might come out.  What a mess that would be!!!

Anybody else ever have this problem?

I can't say I have the exact same issue but my port (in since last Nov.) has turned on it's side during expansion. I still go for Herceptin and though the nurses don't love it, it works perfectly. I'm having it taken out at exchange next month...WHOO HOO!  Have your chemo nurses seen it?

No, I always turn it right side up before they see it.  I think it would freak them out!

My port flipped and no chemo today. Tomorrow I will see the surgeon to have it manipulated back or possibly more surgery to re-position. I am so stressed about this!

My goodness i am so sorry you ladies have to deal with that. When I saw the thread title i thought that can't possibly mean what I think it does. And darn if it didn't. It gives me the heebies and I won't be able to turn over for week in bed.
