CALLING ALL STAGE I SISTERS
Comments

Kaara,
My FIL (when he was living) gave his name/phone number to the University Extension Service, and he would get several calls each year to remove swarms. One of our nephews in Oregon does that now, has gotten a couple of nice swarms...
Just a suggestion..

lillian38 - Hi, welcome! We get off-topic pretty regularly on this thread. It's a good place to ask BC-related questions, but also a place to vent if you need to or to share good news, etc. You caught the tail end of a discussion about bees....hence the term "swarms" - not breast cancer related.
You don't mention what type of surgery you had in February (lumpectomy? mastectomy? reconstruction?). Regardless, I'm sorry you're dealing with an infection and another surgery
. I had a rather rocky healing course after my bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomy surgery. It's hard enough to deal with all of this and especially hard when things don't go according to plan.
Best of luck tomorrow!

lillian38.....welcome to our sisterhood...
What kind of surgery did you have?

Welcome Lillian---sorry you have to be here with us.did you know that bc suks?I hate bc...that suks too.
Shiela-we sure have been missing each other.I never saw your post about having the gathering on Sept.I know you are goin away and i hate to ride the busses and trains in the summer but i really did not want this thing to be forgotten.Does anyone have any input on this?perhaps you can give me some kinda update. The more i think about it the more I think we should wait for you in Sept.I thought we would do one now and again in sept.
I went to a NJ one today.I met 3 darling sistas. We all need to connect especially if we can find a way to do it.There was a sista that posted last nite that if anyone needed a ride (and she lives right near me)she would pick anyone up.Of course I posted and there I went.It was so heartwarming. We need to do this.I probably should have put this in a pm but i saw you and i wanted to grab you.I hope you are still on.
Anyway.....Im not as cranky as I was
huggggs my sistas K

Weekend down the shore with one of my daughters..........went to the beach, and managed to do it without many aches and pains..........sat for 4 hours and watched the ocean....................but the best was all the "freaks" that go down the shore.................I said to my daughter...............Good God when they come he they think any "attire" is ok.............I never saw so many "boobs, and ass cheeks" in my entire life..................I said..............I wonder if any of them looked in the mirror before they left the house,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and if not..........they should have.........lol.................it was quite entertaining..................
-
granny....I know i posted here or on Fuzzy's about September.
i'm gonna send you a PM.

Good Night All♥
-
Good night Sheila! Sweet dreams to all Stage 1 Sistas!
-
Good Morning ladies..............................gorgeous day here in Drexel Hill..............no shore this weekend......everyone has something else to do, and I don't go unless one of the kids is gone............so, I'll find something here to do...................yea, like what?????????????????............I need a new hose.........WOW, that sounds like fun shopping..................ugh...................
I would be on my way to Chicago with my daughter to see my grandsons, had they not decided to fly.......they were driving at first, then got cheap airfare, and changed their mind.........and I won't get on a plane..........
Oh that's right, my grandson graduates from "middle school" tomorrow night.......................hey what the hell was I thinking..................I wasn't right...........oh boy........I do need serious help..............
-
I am soooo upset....either the edema came back or i have the dreaded LE.....Shit...im in pain again.
goin to the dr.tomorrow to see if she can figure it out....
I hate you bc!!!!!!really i do.........can you tell im pissed?
-
Hugs Granny - hoping is isn't LE!
-
Granny.............hope all goes well........LE is no fun..........as you already heard me rant and rave.........hugs.
-
Hey Grannydukes,
I really hope this isn't LE. You and I have the best bs in the world. If anyone can make this better, she can! -
granny so sorry you are in pain again. I hope it is not LE
-
granny: I pray that you feel better soon. Hope it's not LE
-
My arm is getting worse...................I am going to begin wrapping again tomorrow.............this is more then I can handle.................why can't the "assholes" who make these custom sleeves ever get anything right..............so depressing...........my arm looks horrible...............God help us all with LE.
-
Ducky..granny...what's happening to both of you?
i can't relate to LE because i have never been there...
did it start from nowhere........did you LE before/
OK girls..i'm waiting......I hate to see my friends in pain and so uncomfortable
Hugs♥
-
Ducky: Did your bs remove a lot of nodes when he did your surgery? I haven't had any LE, but I only had the SN removed, and it was clear. I was told never to have blood pressure or blood taken from that arm. As a result, the veins in my other arm are showing signs of distress because that is where I was getting all my IV's when I was undergoing alternate treatment. I hope they regenerate themselves after a time. I guess it's always something!
-
Hi Ladies.......to answer a couple questions.........I never had LE before BC.............when they did my SNB and they used the dye......the SN did not show up the color they wanted it to, so he had to take some nodes..........he took 8.........all were clear, but he said he could not take the chance...........Remember me telling the story about the "gorilla" who massaged my breast to get the dye to move (big bastard), and killed me............well it didn't and that is why the removal of a few nodes....................
The LE began to show while I was having Rads......they thought that was pretty soon, but when I went to the LE specialist, and she measured my arm..sure enough the BC arm (right side) was larger........we began doing wrapping, and exercise immediately.....the swelling reduced greatly, and I was measured for a "custom sleeve", which I would have to wear all the time.............2 places made it, and not one of them could get it right.............I got fed up, and of course "gave up"..................now my arm is getting larger again.............its all bullshit, I hate it, and it is worse then the BC..............this is for life.................it never goes away......you just control it............and it has many flare-ups...............no needle sticks, no BP in that arm, no sauna, or spa's, (and I have a jacuzzi tub), no cuts, or or punctures to that arm, or hand..............big trouble if you do.............
It is uncomfortable, ugly, and you constantly have to answer idiot questions like...................what did you do to your arm.................pain in the ass.................
-
A footnote...................everyone who has nodes removed does not get LE...........your chances increase if you do, but a for instance..............my LE therapist was a BC survivor................she had 30 nodes removed, and never got LE..........so go figure............my son-in-laws mother had a tumor the size of a walnut, mastectomy, malignant nodes, all removed................never got LE................
Sometimes it can be Rads that causes it........it does something to the lymph system...........by the way ......the 2 people above also had Rads...............so its the luck of the draw..............then also, if you have a shitty lymph system even before BC, that can contribute to you getting LE once you get BC.....................but who the hell knows if their lymph system is working properly or not.................
So I muddle on day to day..............hating LE, hating BC, and some days....................hating myself................and in addition we have Femara "shit" to deal with........................Thanks BC.......you just keep on giving.........
-
ducky, (((HUGS)))
-
So sorry you're having to deal with this ducky. I didn't get rads either...I'm just doing diet and supplement and praying that it won't come back to bite me again! That sleeve is supposed to work really well. Montel Williams was talking about it on his show...helps drain the lymph system.
-
Thanks ladies.............your right Kaara...........that is the purpose of the sleeve.............
-
Ok I went to the internist who right away said its another edema flairup. She is the only one who saw it.My BS blew me off and told me to watch my salt but i insisted on PT.This dr wants a US dopler of the arm and a US of the breast.Either way im sure ill need PT.Im doin my exercises and drinkin lots of water. The pain is better since im sleeping with the compression bra and wearing the Champion sports bra.
Sure wish they had a test to tell the difference as the DRS know shit about both of them and they cannot tell the difference. This im sure came from a tiny tiny bite on my hand.
Oh the joy of bc!!!!!!!!!!And yes i got it after the rads.the swelling never went down to the same size as the other one but i never had pain or swelling of the arm.just one spot.Rambling on like a crazy one...just hoping its noth that friggin LE.
Just when i was starting to feel semi normal....NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!!!!!!!
thanks everyone for all the concern.I love all of my sistas.
hugggggggggs K
-
granny: I suit up like a bee keeper when I work in the yard...I wear heavy gloves on my hands, because that's where they like to bite for some reason. A couple of years ago one got me right in my vein and my hand looked like I was wearing a catchers mitt it was so swollen;( Get the PT so it will get better quickly.
-
Im goin to an outdoor engagement party next sat.
guess i should wear a coat and gloves!!!
-
(((granny)))
I saw the pictures on FB...they are absolutely adorable.
Kaara my friend how are you doing/
We had a beautiful day here in NY...another miracle day.
-
NJ was beautiful too.wish it would stay this way all summer long.
Sheila----we keep missing each other.
Anyone hear from Val?????
huggggggggs everyone.still need prayers that its only (ha) edema.
