ducky...i'm very familiar with anxiety and do take medication for it.
Before i was DX with depression and panic attacks in late 80's...I was in the ER with Ambulance few times. I still get it here and there but these symptoms are new...it happened about 3 weeks ago again i was in the supermarket.....felt faint took an extra anxiety pill since i carry it with me just in case and I was fine in couple of hours later.
Thank You all for keeping me company tomorrow.
I think i'm more terrified that they will find something wrong and I' won't be able to fly to my DD's wedding.
OMG.....I'm driving myself and you all crazy.
Sorry.........
-
Sheila, I'll be in your pocket tomorrow also. I think it's probably anxiety. Not that any of us have anything to be anxious about LOL. At least you don't have to wait forever for results from a cardiogram.
-
Oh Wren.... you mean they can see it on the screen right away if something wrong?
-
Good Night All ♥
-
Sheila, I'll be with you too.
Good Night

Hi All, Sheila I hope your tests go great and they figure out what is happening. It does sound like anxiety to me but I'm not a doctor.
Yesterday was my first appointment with the medical oncologist. Finally someone is putting things all together and looking towards the distant future instead of just tomorrow! I was talking to the nurse and then the doctor for over 1.5 hours. I haven't posted yet but I'm a very unusual case of bilateral cancers. They did biopsies on one area of my left breast twice and came up with atypical cells and the doctor did a lumpectomy there. Turns out this was DCIS thus I had IDC in my right breast with a lot of atypical tissue and DCIS in my left breast. The Med Onc thinks I might be genetically predisposed and has ordered genetic testing. Why didn't we know this.....because my father's maternal side all died before 65 of heart disease and we are a small family. The Med Onc thinks that if they hadn't died of heart disease, they would have later developed breast cancer. So rather than guessing and putting me through the re-excision on May 11 and potential having more cancer develop in that remaining tissue in the future, we are going to do the genetic testing potentially postponing the re-excision because if I'm positive it drastically changes my course.....they would remove the second breast and do a hysterectomy. Thank God for routine mammograms!
-
Sheila - will definitely be in your pocket!! I guess I'm the opposite of anxious - it takes a lot to get me upset/anxious/mad/nervous. My MIL lives with us and she is extremely fatalistic - always anticipates the worst that could happen in any situation. I had a good MO checkup recently and my husband told her and her comment was "Are you telling me the truth? She's not hiding something from me?" Sheesh. When our daughter was very small (and my MIL still lived by herself) she would call and if we weren't home she would leave a message and say, "Well, I hope you're not at the hospital with the baby." Uh, no. Just out living our lives.
Hi Valerie! Sounds like you do have a lot going on. I went through genetic testing also since there is no history of BC in my family on either side. However, my father's side are Ashkenazi Jews, so they were worried about the connection coming from that. Thankfully I was BRCA negative. I would have had the same recommendation of BMX and hysterectomy. Sounds like your MO is a lot like mine - wants to make sure all the bases are covered before just slapping a generic treatment course on you. Mine also retested my HER2 - which was positive on biopsy - because she didn't think it "fit" the rest of my picture and it came back negative TWICE - so my treatment course was altered significantly. Thank God too for good docs!
-
mad, your MIL is not a fatalist, rather she is a pessimist. A pessimist thinks everything will go wrong or turn out bad. A fatalist says what will be will be. I'm a fatalist. I believe that when my time comes I will die, whether I die of cancer, some other illness or trip on my own imagination and break my neck. That dosen't mean I don't try to take care of my health, enjoy my life and contribute to society, I definitely do.
-
Sheila - thinking of you and praying.
Valerie - How true .. Thand God for routine mammograms!
-
Madpeacock....thanks for your comments! I love my medical onc. He was so informative and definitely in tune with things. The "team" is digging in and making sure I proceed with the best course of action. As he said though, if I come back BCRA negative that doesn't mean we let up on monitoring....there could be unknown genes involved that haven't been discovered. I find it reassuring that this has been discovered early and he assured me I will not die from breast cancer.....they will closely monitor and not let it get that far. There however is not a promise of no further treatment. I now understand this and have realized since the very first diagnosis that I'm not cured but merely treated. They are discussing Mammosite for me too. How did you find this treatment?
Thanks all for your comments. It helps to know that you are all here even though I would have rather met u under different conditions!
-
I asked my BS about mammosite and he talked me out of it. I truly wish I had gone ahead and demanded that he do it, because I ended up skipping rads altogether. I think it's very appropriate for an early stage low grade bc such as yours. It treats just the surgical site and minimizes the dangers to healthy tissue, unlike WBR.

I don't feel good...i'm not saying it's my heart but all the discomfort and everything else is coming from there...I don't know how to describe it........now it's escaping beats........
OK.....Let's hope it's anxiety related...again if it is... I never had this type and lasted this long.
I'm not very happy right now.
Thank You all for caring.

-
(((((HUGS))))) to Sheila and everyone else who needs one!
-
Sheila.......did you say they were doing a cardiogram........those results are immediate...............I'm surprised they said a week................You did say you were seeing a Cardiologist right.........................if not, make an appt. with one right now........don't mess with your PCP for this..........................please, if you hven't seen a Cardio man, go as soon as possible...................I'm not trying to scare you, just concerned...........don't pass this off as "anxiety", be safe..................we read and hear so much everyday about women, and their hearts.......................a week seems like a long time for someone not feeling well, and especially as "lousy" as you feel..........................love you, and care about you...............please take this seriously....................hugs.
-
Sheila, The not feeling well is more concerning than the other. I agree with Ducky, see a specialist. (((((HUGS)))))
-
(((((((((( ♥ Sheila ♥ ))))))))))
Not to highjack my own thread, but a special "hello" to raincity. It has been a while since I've "talked" to you. How ya doing??
Welcome to Valerie. (from another Valerie here)
-
Lots of Hugs and Prayers to Sheila! Hope they get this solved for you quickly!
Hey another Valerie! There aren't many of us around! I have a fellow Valerie that goes to my church and she is married to a Rick which is my brothers name. I never forget who they are, lol.
Since I'm the second one here, I will have to be Val2!
-
Hugs and prayers for you Sheila. I agree with the others...better to see a specialist. I don't even bother with the PCP when I have a problem...I just set the app't up with the specialist and go to save the time and aggravation of waiting for the referral to go through. Of course you can't do that if you're in an HMO, which is why I'm not. You must ask and wait for a referral.
-
I am very fortunate..........I do belong to an HMO, but I have a PCP who does not fool around with your health.............only reason I stay with the HMO....................................I can call his office, and tell the receptionist (who I know well), that I want to go see a specialist, and she will put a referral electronically, immediately through to the specialist office...........most times my appt. is already set up when I call and ask for the referral..............I know this is not the case with most HMO's................but then again I have been with my PCP long before HMO's existed, so maybe that is it...............or he doesn't need a "lawsuit"....................for me all it takes is a phone call, thank God, otherwise I would never belong to an HMO............
The day I went back for my 2nd mammogram, and they told me it was a tumor, I went from the radiology dept. directly to the BS..........right in the same hospital within 1/2 hour of the mammogram................no calling my PCP, no going home........no referral.........just right to the BS..................My PCP's office took care of all the "tom foolery" after the fact...............the last thing I cared about at the time was "ok, what would the insurance company want me to do".....................I did what I wanted.............nary a problem............thank heavens.
So Sheila.............call a Cardiologist, and set something up right away......if you tell the "desk" your symptoms, and be very serious when you tell them, I'm sure they will see you right away, if not, the next time "go to the ER", let them see you as you are experiencing the problem..........as I said, for me 2 times it was anxiety..........the last time it was a heart attack...........not a bad one, but a heart attack just the same.................plllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeaaasssssseeeeee.
