i will try the stop smoking thread ...for some reason I am smoking like a damn fiend now...I'd put them in my nose if I could...I needed a demarcation point for starting my stopping and that is what tomorrow has become-even if I don't get in the trial.
eph...that is more encouraging than you know...
seyla...I eat i eat and then i eat a little more

Happy Valentine's Day Sisters! (((HUGS)))
Had my last radiation treatment this morning - I suddenly feel free. Now on to Tamox...
Have a beautiful day!

Oakley - Congrats on finishing rads.
-
oakley: It was my 2nd knee surgery on the right, in six months, but I also had one on the left before that. They were all torn cartilage surgeries from playing soccer. I started to play in my 40's and played for 8 years but after 3 surgeries and close to 50 I quit. DH had 1 surgery on each knee as well, due to soccer, but we had hell of a time playing. I MISS IT
! Hope your knee improves quickly!

pretty topper Sheila!
-
grannyd- sending positive energy to your sister-in-law and a big hug to you
thanks all for the words of encouragement...just going to get ready now to go down to the med center for the tests..sheesh...it seems i id not have this many for BC:) Of course my mind is a pinball game right now...full of what if? what if i don't get in? what if I do? what if this cold I am being treated for is not the reason for the swollen lymph node on my neck? What if the blood tests today show something horrible? Am I dumb to go to one of the leading cancer centers in the world and offer my battered little body for them to *check out* for smoking but not let them treat my breast cancer? WIll I always be second guessing myself? WHat happens if I stop second-guessing myself? Am I irresponsible to miss work to go this clinical trial deal? Am I really going to stop smoking? Can I still hang out with my new friend who smokes as much as I do if I quit? Why are my toes cold?:)
-
Oh thank you all so so much for my hugs and congrats, etc. I am feeling really blessed right now. And happy because I'm home and not at rads!
Granny - sending prayers for your SIL.
Annettek - I was not a smoker so I won't pretend to know what you're going through, but I can only imagine how difficult this must be to start this journey. I am assuming that all you are feeling is normal (not that it makes it easier) but you CAN DO THIS. Keep looking at your avatar - yuk! Keep remembering all the reasons you want to stop smoking - YOU CAN DO IT. Good luck with all of your tests and huge hugs to get you through.

Good Night Sisters

Annettek, You can quit smoking! When I need to overcome something that is not healthy (such as smokiing), I visualize my lungs expanding to the fullest extent, my running around a track without feeling out of breath and me being able to taste the deliciousness of food). Not saying it is easy to quit, but when I make my mind up, I cold-turkey and don't look back. I am 13 years smoke-free. What helped was I found out I was pregnant with twins...I could not ruin two little lives that have not even taken their first breath yet - I quit that day.
You are strong - you've been through BC. You can do it!
-
THANKS FOR THE PRAYERS EVERYONE...MY SIL OPENED HER EYES LAST NITE.
