CALLING ALL STAGE I SISTERS

My goal is 15 lbs or one dress size. If I get the size, but not the wieght, I'll be happy.
-
Meece - I lost 20 lbs about 5 years ago - went from a size 12 to a size 4. Still keeping it off and hoping the Tamox does not put the lbs back on. I know the struggle and had a hard time giving up the snacks, especially at night.
I eat 5 small meals a day and that has worked for me. If I eat a small apple mid -morning, that is considered a meal.
-
Sheila, what is E-LAB? Sounds like an experiment of some sort. Is that a website?
I would like to lose 15 pounds. I did it before but for whatever reason I can't get back to that healthy lifestyle again. Part of the problem is that I was a runner - I say was because I tore my ACL last February and had surgery to reconstruct it in May. Huge recovery for me and I still can't run. It's been a long road. So finding other things to do that I like has been a challenge, that's why I am on a schedule now to train 2x per week for 45 minutes. It's actually helping my knee AND most importantly my mindset. I don't mean to complain...
-
E-Lab Project It is a supportive thread while we are all trying to get fit again.
-
Thanks Meece - I will check it out.
-
Thanks Meece I'll check it out too. I'm hoping I'm not going to have to read 280 pages to get caught up though.... Every night I get on the computer and check in with you guys it takes me a good 30 min just to catch up on the conversations. You're all very talkative.
Oh, and congrads. oakley for the 57 posts.... and maybe more by the time I get back tomorrow night!
-
oakley and samsue....
E-LAB Project is a fun thread.
We are trying to eat healthy and lost weight.
Good Night

Hi and Happy New Year, I am just reading up on the posts I missed. I have been caught up in getting everyone back to school and getting back into the routine of everything after the holidays. I hope everyone's holidays were great. I wish and pray for the best for everyone this year. Treatment is going alright, but I am very tired. Talk to you soon.
-
I was away for 4 days, You guys had a good times in my absence on the eve of New Years. that is good. I could not enjoy much as I was in the hospital waiting for my reports, going to show to the doctor. I am confused on my doctor,s advise to discontinue arimidex from July onwards. I don,t know why, because I was told initially to continue for 5 years. This makes me confused but I have to follow his instruction. So I am looking for alternatives. Please post for me if there is any information on my confusion.
-
rajkumari - you were diagnosed in 2005, so it seems to make sense.....I am shortly going to begin, how has the arimidex been for you?
-
Thanks Samsue.
Thanks Meece and Sheila.
E-LAB here I come...
-
Samsue, you won't have to read that many pages, but maybe go back a couple of weeks to see our current activity.
-
Hi raj....Our DX time are almost the same.
When did you start taking it?
I started taking Femara on March 2006 and my Oncologist said we are stopping it this coming March 2011 which will be exactly 5 years.
Hugs to you
-
Meece - I can't go to ELab because nobody there has gained as much weight as I have since starting chemo.
Do chemo and rads change your metabolism? I mean 14 lbs up since Thanksgiving isn't normal even if I did have a few chocolates and pie.
-
raincitygirl, come on over. It is not a contest, it is a stay-healthy forum. No-one judges; they only offer support. Chemo, Rads, 'BC' all change your metabolism so don't feel you are doing anything wrong.
-
Diane....E-LAB is not just loosing weight but also eating healthy and exercise.
I invite you personally to join the group. You wont be sorry.
Im really motivated today.
Sheila

Hi Rain,
To me (the newbie) E-LAB is all about support from others with whatever YOUR goals are for yourself, regardless of what your weight is or how much you have gained. I am looking forward to hopefully finding new ideas in making healthy choices of food. And having support in learning to like the foods that are healthy for me. Now is the time to do it, especially before I start the Tamox - which I hear causes some weight gain. We can help each other. Move it on over there...
-
I want to join in there but don't want to post poundage information, just participate in the rest. I find the posting of my weight to be the intimidating factor
-
I'm not the boss, but I'm sure you don't have to post anything you're not comfortable with! You look great in your picture BTW!!
-
thanks oakley, that was right around the time of diagnosis - not looking like that at all right now
I will again, I will again,...
-
Oakley - For what it is worth, I got my RX for Tamox yesterday and actually read the patient info sheet that came with it and it said one of the se's is weight loss. It also says that on the one for Effexor.
Just thought I would pass that one.
-
If you don't want to post your weight, don't/ We'll still support you. I hated to post my wieght as I had always been "the skinny girl", but it has motivated me and I have lost about 7 lobs and kept it off. Even through the holidays, I knew I was going to be supported by the lovely "birds" over there.
-
Rain, I also was intimidated with posting my weight, especially since I was just about the heaviest one there. Actually, I think I still am. But, no, you don't have to post it. Just come on over for the motivation. I also encourage you over to the 'Let's Post our Daily Exercise' thread and, before you say you feel you're not moving enough, you only have to move one inch an hour to be invited to join! (sorry, when they removed my lump they took the last shred of seriousness from me!)
-
Patoo I am right behind you - I'll have to pop over and have Meece update my starting weight, I am now at183 lbs....that 38 lbs gained in 18 months. But I am going to wait until Friday for an official weigh in, I have been good this week and I am hoping for a lb or two lower
-
Jo, thanks for the info on the weight loss for tamox. I don't know where I heard or read about weight GAIN - so it had me a bit worried.
-
Anyone notice I hit that 50 mark and can't slow down? I'm slowing down. Sorry.
-
oakley - When I hit 50 I just let loose as you can tell by the number of postings I have so far. Love posting pics since I learned how.
Don't slow down - keep on going and going and going!
-
Look at my posts.
I used to play the games a lot.
Who cares!!!!
-
I find the interaction on serious and not so serious thread topics is more rewarding than the games, although I still frequent a few.
