CALLING ALL STAGE I SISTERS

Geez ladies, you a buzzing today, five posts since I started typing!
Debbie - sorry for your dx but you have come to a place of caring ladies who understand and are ready to support you as you work your way through your treatment. Ask us anything, vent, laugh with us - you are WELCOME. After lots of reading and agonising I decided on bmx with immediate recon even though the surgeon suggested lump with rads. He thought I was over reacting but I just knew that it was the right decision for ME. I decided on bmx because I had ILC, which has a much higher occurance rate in the other breast than IDC, and I felt the 'good' breast was a ticking time bomb, because I wanted to avoid rads if I could, because I wanted to avoid the on going stress of mammos, because I wanted to feel I had done everything possible to make sure I didn't have to go through all this trauma again - I didn't want to be second guessing myself in the future and because I felt my DH and DDs and myself would feel 'safer' somehow. I woke after surgery happy with my decision and nearly two years down the track I am still happy with it. However, for every woman who chose lump and rads there will be one who chose mx or bmx and for every women there will be differing reasons for their decisions so no one person can say what is right - what feels right to YOU is what matters. The more information you have the more comfortable you will feel with your decision long term so read lots. Feel free to Private message me (click on my name and then click on the words Send member a private message at the top right of the page) if I can help with any questions about the op and recovery or anything else.

Hullo.
I don't know how to plank!
Until just now I didn't even know that I don't know how to plank. Maybe that is something I will learn along with this all?
So very new to it all. Five more rads to go. Already struggling with the decision to take the anastrozole after one month. News today that there is a mass in my uterus. Good grief. Seems too soon to have something new on my plate.
I'm doing well and can see that if I take this in in chunks too large it could easily lead to panic. So I'm glad to have found this place where I can educate myself and draw comfort from being part of the group.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Edit: Oh look - I'm in the wrong room. 'scuse.

anjanita - as far as I am concerned you are welcome here - we are all dealing with the same disease and can fit into many different threads. Visit where you feel comfortable. We all understand, care and are ready to support new ladies as we have been supported in the past. I am another ILC lady - there are threads specifically for ILC and for the different hormone treatments so check those out as you may get more specific info from them.
-
Anjanita, you are welcome here. Sorry you had to join BC.org, but I am certain you will be glad you found it.

Anjanita..You stay where you are. There is no wrong room when it comes to this disease.
We love to have you right here sister.
And you don't have to plank. I don't
Hugs

I just woke up and trust me, the after-pain from yesterday's planking may not be worth the 1/100th of a pound I may have lost.
-
I am going to have to Google planking.
-
Wow, RCG, you can do that? I can watch it, but probably can't do it.
-
I googled it too Meece. LOL
-
Meece - I can only do that with the trainer standing over me with his damn timer. I have to hold three planks for one minute each which doesn't sound like much but it really is, for me at least. It is the last part of the workout so when I complete that, I know there is only final stretching to do. It's purpose to build your core and because mine is very weak and flabby, I have to do this. I would rather be able to quilt or bake a pie like you do than plank.
I am going for rad #7 this morning. When I come home, DD is having six girlfriends here for movies and popcorn. I just hope they don't hear me snoring from the upstairs tv room.
-
I thought I'd go to this exercise class, but it went to the dogs!
-
LOL!
-
Well I thought I was off to #7 in about 30 minutes, however DH just called and said the roads are a sheet of ice and so he will have to come back and drive me in the AWD car. Today, I feel stupid for selling the Subaru.
-
Bummer. I have yet to go outside, but it was at freezing this morning. Have to go to the Chiropractor in an hour. I'll find out how cold it is then.
-
I skipped a few pages of reading but, HOHOHO, love the picture of "Poodle-cise!!"
-
-
Jo, I looked at your last post and I see my silhouette in it. Need to poodle-cise NOW!!!
-
Here is the link to the Poodle-cise video
-
the creature to the left of the lady in that photo does not look like a poodle! It looks like a bear to me.
I don't probably "plank" since I don't know what that is, but I do know how to "plunk" my butt down very effectively in my comfy chair, which is one of the places I will be after Saturday night, which is my last last shift at the "seasonal" order entry job I've been doing! I will not miss anything about it except the extra paycheck every 2 weeks-that was really nice!
-
You are right, it does look like a bear, but not in the video.
-
I am with Eph3_12 - I am good at plunking the butt in the chair with the feet up. My dogs are barking right now - they are so tired.
-
I'd like to say I want to be a plunker, but I want to get fit, too. Oh, the dilemma!
-
I am considering a Zumba class. Am I out of my mind? But it looks like such fun.
-
I saw the ad of TV, it does look like fun. Trouble is, if I start moving around like that in the living room, things are gonna vibrate off the shelves, LOL.
-
everyone! Thanks for your friendship throughout 2010.
-
-
Plink, plank, plunk.
Thanks for the welcome. Have yet to understand all the intricacies of the DX!
