CALLING ALL STAGE I SISTERS

I say in a past sense because I believe I don't have BC now.
We reached 58 for NY its a record.
-
I had my lumpectomy in August and have similar stats - I sent my doc an email asking that exact question and he responded as follows " You HAD breast cancer".
-
I'm with Nancy. I say I had cancer. I want to move beyond thinking of myself as a sick person.
-
Catbill - I don't think TE's can freeze but they can sure get COLD!!!!! My DH would complain at night that when I cuddled my body would be burning hot (hot flashes) but my TE's would be so cold they would wake him up... A nice hot shower usually defrost's them to a more normal temp

HI everyone - I just started taking my tamoxafin today and have developed a migrane or sinus headache. I can't believe it could be from the drug already - I just took it a couple of hours ago. Any opinions on this and can I take advil while on tamox?

Hi Everyone! I am going to see my onc first thing in the morning. Haven't seen him since early October. Kinda nervous - really don't know what happens next now that I have finished rads. Will update everyone when I get back.
-
I say I am over 3 year survivor.
RCG, you can email your onc? I wish I could.
-
jo, a few days after rads I started taking Arimidex and will be on it until July 2012. I must say I am just having mild SE. Just muscle and joint aches. I was told to take Advil or Tylenol. Which does help.
-
Nancy - Thanks!
deborye - Have tried Arimidex already - had to go off after three weeks.
-
I can email my onc but there are some conversations/questions he won't do on email and will then call me - he was clear about that at the beginning though - sort of "you can use it for this but not for that"...

Good luck, Jo. Hope the meeting goes well!
And thanks, everyone, for your opinions on wording--I would definitely prefer to think of myself as having had cancer, not still having it! And raincity girl's onc makes it official!
-
good luck tommorrow, Jo..let us know.. 3jays
-
I missed you Michelle.
(((VAL))) sister/friend
(((Renee))) We keep missing each other.

I thought the question about have/had was a toughie because I had a partial mx with 16 nodes removed during the SNB. It was all taken out, but I still had months and months of Chemo and rads ahead. But I had BC and now I am cancer free.
-
I have the ability to email my onc, but I had to sign a paper about accepting the fact that it would not be used for confidential matters.
-
Good luck {{{Jo1955}}}!

We have gotten a lot of snow here in mid-Michigan, tho not nearly the amount in MN. Yikes!
I will be so glad when this week is over.........
DH & I are leaving this coming Sunday, the 19th, for the U.P. to spend Christmas with my DD#2 & grandchildren. It will be lots of fun on Christmas morning with the little ones. My DD#1 & DH are coming up on the 23rd to spend Christmas will us as well. My DH put in his order after last Christmas, that he would so love to have his entire family together the next year, this year, & since my DD#2 loves having company, she started making plans almost immediately.
All I want for Christmas is for a negative MRI this week for my DD#1. That's all. That's not asking too much, is it??
I know I would not be holding it together without the support of all of you, my dear sister/friends. You are all my Christmas angels here on earth.

Okay, when I view this page, on the top where you put your pictures, Sheila, next to your avatar, the big box is almost empty except for the Merry Christmas banner & your information on posts for newbies & your stats, of course. The beautiful Christmas tree that I used to see there is not in that spot anymore. It used to be, but for the last week it has been way over to the right side of the page. I have a wide screen & I have to move the bar on the bottom to move the page over to view it. You know, if someone posts a picture that is way enlarged & you have to move the scroll bar above the taskbar at the bottom to view the entire width of it, well that is there for me with this particular thread & the only way I see that tree now is to scroll to the right.
I don't know why the tree is not by your name at the top in it's regular spot like all the other pictures have been.
So, I gather, nobody else is having this problem? Just something with the way it is loading for me, I guess.
I'm weird!
-
Val-yes you are!
(as are all of us
-
Hi ladies - have had a few days off the computer - am feeling emotionally and physically exhausted after a full on year and still dealing with the year from hell - 2009 - in many ways. 4 days of work til my 6 weeks of school summer holidays - boy do I need them.
Val - I am your 'weird' twin sista - my page is exactly as you describe it - picture is way off to the right when it used to be by the banner.
-
Val- I see the same thing you do, but I already know I'm weird. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your DD. Your Christmas plans sound like fun.
9 degrees below zero this morning (with wind chill, its 23 degrees below) and colder in the outlying areas. Many schools closed due to the cold. Why do I live here? My Arimidex-induced painful joints are not awful, but moving sorta slow. Second week back to work hasn't even started, and I'm already tired. I think I need an attitude adjustment.
-
I see everything as it should be, so it appears that I am the weird one.
-
It looks fine to me, too.
-
We are a different kind of weird - it is just as it should be for me.
-
deboyre I have dense breast tissue and my tumor was not found with the mammo. The mammo showed some things to question which ended up being OK but my tumor was not found until I had the MRI. I personally will never settle for just a mammo again. If I had known what I do now I would have at least insisted on a ultrasound as well. My tumor also showed on my ultrasound.
-
Susan thanks for asking the had or have bc question I have been wondering the same thing myself. I just say I am being treated.
Jo good luck with your dr appt.
