New Job

I wondered if anyone else tried to get a new job in the middle of their chemo. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Health Information Mgmt. 2 years ago and have done nothing with it. A new job at the Cleveland  Clinic has come up that would be right up my alley. I applied for it because I am not happy in my current position although it is low stress which I am extremely grafteful for having during my dx and 1/2 of my chemo treatment. I don't think I would even start this job until late Nov/early Dec which would mean I'd have 1 chemo treatment left but I still  need a year of Herceptin. My question is since I would need time off for the Herceptin/chemo would you tell the new employer about the Breast Cancer  dx or make up something about why I would need one day off per week or why I'd need to start later on a certain day? I worked there for 4 years so I think my chances of getting this job are great. I think it will help boost my deprssion as lately I am unmotivated by anything. I'm conflicted because half of me says wait till after your treatment is done yet the other half wants to keep living life to the fullest as i don't know how much time is left. Anyone else face this dilemma?

 Thanks!

I have felt since dx that if it's something I want to try, or do, and it hurts no one else and I can afford it, I go for it.

You don't have to discuss your medical status with anyone during an interview.  That said, if they call you back for another interview, I'd wait till it was a done deal before telling them.  If they want you bad enough, a couple of days won't matter----but I'd not go into my medical with anyone till the offer was on the table.
