I know it's a weird subject, but there seems to be ALOT of Lisa's and Debbie's on the boards. My name happens to be Lisa and I've seen others....Debbie is popular too. I could think of better clubs to be a member of, but I'm sure glad to have found you sisters.

Just curious how many other Lisa's are out thereWink

    (((Hugs)))

Oh Lisa....I didn't know you were an Elisabeth. I know I've talked to so many Lisa's on here. I don't really know anyone else in my area named Lisa, so I thought it was kinda strange :)Undecided

I think it has to do with the demographics of both breast cancer and this website.  Let me explain my theory.  BC, while it is considered an older persons disease does affect a significant number of women who are middle aged or a bit younger.  And this group of women (say ages 35 to 55) tend to use the internet a lot more than women in their 60's and 70's.  And those are the women that post on these forums:  Women in their late 30's to early 50's who were born in the 50's and 60's when names like Debbie and Lisa were popular.  I went to school with several Debbies and Lisa's when I was growing up.  Since adulthood I don't know of anyone who's named their daughter either of those names.

I have way too much time on my hands.Smile

    another Lisa here

I was born in 1592 and so far, I am the oldest Lisa I've met.  Lisa didn't become a popular name until the 1960's according to a web site that ranked the popularity of names by the decade.     SoCalLisa, as LIsa is your nickname, I don't know if that changes my status as the oldest Lisa.  :)

One night I was at the climbing gym and there were three other LIsa's there (all younger than me- a very confusing night.... I'd hear someone call my name, but no  - they were takling to another Lisa.

I think that some of the best folks here, share our names.

    LOL.

    Totally unbiased.

Yup. Time on our hands. LOL.

Edited hours later, because I can't type. LOL

Ok, if I chime in? I'm a Debbie. Born 1953. My mom was a huge fan of Debbie Reynolds. While I like the actress, I never liked my name---too plain. But it was a hugely popular name in the '50's. For years in my childhood, I fantasized what I would change my name to: Audra, Marlene, Lorraine, Veronica, Yvette.  But my adult nickname now (to close friends) is Desiree! Long story as to how that came about...

Hi coonie! For sure too many Debbie's. Often I can't tell if another poster is replying to me or to another Debbie on a forum! I probably should have started at the beginning on BCO with my Desiree nickname.

    Hey, LOVE your avatar....

coonie; I live next to open space and see raccoons all the time on our place. They are cute....and mischevious. I know they can be mean, but we've never have a problem with them.

Coonie...Branson is 30 minutes away from me, but it is so busy there in the summer mainly, that I don't go there too much! We do go to the lake at Branson West a lot.

I noticed all the Debbie's also,  being one of em myself (actually Deborah) Smile Although I dont post much at all anymore I still read the boards everyday. This is still and always will be my homepage when I connect as I know without this place I NEVER would have made it through as well as I did 6 years ago. Dx in july2003 finished tx in 2004....I made my 5 yr mark this past may for the BC and going on my 2 yr mark on the colon cancer....been a long ride but I truly believe being a "Debbie" is a good thing...LOL

    Love ya all...JusMeAngel
