The opening page picture includes my ancestral home! It was sold in 1962 when my great-grandmother died. Most of the contents of the house were donated to the MFA, Salem Historic group or what is now the Peabody Essex museum. Each family member was allowed to take three items, not designated of historic signifigance, for their own personal use. Since I was only a toddler, my mother selected my items.

I will not be joining you in December. Sorry. My idea of a nightmare is to be anywhere near a mall during the month of December. Just getting off Route 3 that time of year on a weekend can take an hour!

Enjoy your gathering. Maybe I will head to Salem. That would be rather fun!

I would be game to head to Salem to do the tour and I'll bet we could find a little local restaurant that would be nowhere near the shopping frenzy folks.

There's a nice little Chinese restaurant in Westford, MA that has good food and a nice Sunday brunch buffet

HI ever;yone, just saw this board! I also live in MA,, off rte 2 near leominster/gardner area, would love to meet sometime, holiday season is tough for me, but I will keep up and perhaps join a get together after the holidays.

I'm making up my grocery list for Thanksgiving.  I will have at least 11 guests.  I think a 20lb turkey will do.

I'll do my cranberry sauce a few days ahead.

For a different twist:

Maple Ginger Roasted Autumn Vegetables from the Food & Wine Magazine.

Pumpkin Pie and Swedish Apple Pie.

My DD Rebekah will arrive the day B4 Thanksgiving to help.

My Aunt and Sister will make other dishes.

I like setting the table a day or two B4 also, that way I can make sure everything is there.

Deb - if you're comfortable with Glenview, then I think it's a go unless someone has a different thought.  We're probably the only ones that have been there except Joyce - she has been there once with us.

I would love to come, but I will be recovering from sinus surgery the first weekend in Dec.  Also, I work a weekend job and would need a bit more  notice to get a weekend day off.  Any weekday I can do just about anytime. 

Please don't change anything just for me, though!  I'll get to one of the get-togethers eventually.

Oh ladies Sundays are hard for me as my DH works a double and it is hard to get someone to watch them.  I will let you know as the time gets closer if I can make it.....

248 Princeton St, North Chelmsford, 01824, it is not too far off of route 3. You have to get on the Drumhill Rotary, but it's just half way around if you are coming from the south.  If you are coming from the north, I would try hopping on route 3A.
