Hi everyone. My first diagnoses was in July 2007. Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Right breast 2.2 centimeters, neg lymph nodes, ER 5% PR- Her-.  Had a mastectomy and six rounds of chemo. Was put on tamoxifen because of the 5% ER.  Yearly mamagram on Sept 2 2009 showed two masses in left breast. Biopsy came back both tumors idc. Had mastectomy and am waiting for report.

Swiss- so sorry to hear about that you have to go through this again, but praying for your strength and that the official report will offer some positive aspect for you.

 Where in NL do you live? I am on the west coast. I usually just come here to read but when I saw your post I had to ask.

I live in Chapel Arm, Trinity Bay.  Have an appointment at 4:00 today to get the results on my mastectomy and lymph nodes.  A little nervous.

Hi Swiss,

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through recurrence. (I am too now w/IBC). I too was given Tamoxifen because of the small amount of Progesterone I had that could develop in my other breast.  However now that I'm on TX I've discontinued the Tamoxifen.

I read an interesting article (can't remember where) where Tamoxifen has been linked to cause a 2nd TN cancer. I think there are risks from Tamoxifen that TN's should avoid completely.

Do you know if new tumors are TN also?
