Heart-Shaped Pillows
Hi Ladies,
I work together with a charity called "fill-a-heart" foundation. We make beautiful heart-shaped pillows for ladies undergoing breast surgery/underarm surgery. If anyone would like to receive one of these pillows, please send me a pm and I would be happy to send you one.
They are, of course, free of charge !
Please feel free to check out the Fill-A-Heart Website:

These would be good to have for the seat belt after surgery or biopsy or port installation or removal.

How wonderful

How wonderful!!!! I'll be having surgery at the end of November. This is a great idea. May I add a a link to my website for others to see that may not be members of BC.org?
-
Through the bc volunteers at my hospital, I received a free heart-shaped pillow and a small rectangular pillow prior to surgery that were made by a local sewing circle. The heart pillow was a life-saver following my axillary surgery. I put the rectangular pillow between my seatbelt and my chest for months after my mastectomy. Thanks, choca, for offering these. I found the ones I received very comforting.
-
Renee,
please feel free to put the link on your website. Your pillow is on the way to you very soon hon.
-
I can't wait. Thank you.

I also received a heart shaped pillow after my lumpectomy & axillary node dissection from the volunteers from ACS at the hospital. It was the perfect shape and was very comfortable.
-
What a great service, Choca!!!
-
Bumping so others may request pillows as needed.

I am having a TRAM after a failed reconstruction on December 16th. Would it be possible for me to get one of those pillows?

I recieved two heart shaped pillows after my mastectomy from volunteers at the hospital. I almost wore them out using them. They're great. what a wonderful thing you're doing.
-
I received a round pillow at my bs's office after a day of numerous biopsies. I then used it after my bilateral mastectomy, each of my fills and after my reconstruction procedures. I was told that a woman who had gone through a biopsy (it was benign, thank goodness) decided to make these for other women going through breast biopsies or surgeries. I really appreciated it and thought about making some too.

I think it was the poem that got to me.
There was a card enclosed with the pillow, signed by the pillow-makers. (Donna, my pillow has ladybugs too, very cheerful!!) On the front of the card is a poem, written by a 14-year-old girl:
Fill a heart that's what we do / A pillow made with love for you / To ease your pain we stuff and sew / You're not alone we want you to know.
Yup, it was the poem that got to me, it did then, it just did again now. Thanks again! {{hugs}}

Hi Choca!
I received my pillow today!.(dragonflies) Thank you so much! The card with the poem was so touching I actually had a moment in the car. (I seem to tear up a lot easier these days.)
Thanks to all who make these possible.
Hugs and best wishes
