bettelou68, how are you?
It's been some days since you posted, and I know you've been having a rough go of it. So I thought I'd ask, how are you? Are plans in place to surgically help your back pain? How is your ankle?
I've been thinking about you, as I'm sure others have too. Wondering how you and your dear husband are doing, with the driving and the surgery. I hope you are in less pain and that you're getting help from your local doctors too.
Please let us know how you are when you have the stamina and time. But do know we are thinking of you.

Tender ~ Bette and I are in the same chemo group, August 08. As you probably know, she's been having a rough time, and as of yesterday, her DH let us know that she'd been hospitalized again. There's more info' on her CaringBridge site. I also have her home address if anyone wants to send her a card. Just PM me if you need it. Deanna

Nov 3rd- Bette had a hard day, increase in pain (on pain pump) pain sapping her strength. Docs now know her fevers are caused by cancer tumors, there is no other infection, all blood work is within normal limits. Docs feel Bette may be too weakened from all the pain/fevers to continue the clinical trial in Virginia. We are trusting God to give us direction in our crisis.
Nov 2- Rads continue for cancer in vetebral spine and heel.
Tom has been keeping up with updates on Bette caringbridge site. Thanks Tom! I think Bette has more than one angel helping her through this time in her life : )
I hope you feel better and regain your strength quickly to continue with your trial. Thinking of you.....Beth

Before I saw this post, God had been bringing Bettelou to my mind to pray for her. I was wondering how she was doing...now I know. The Lord knows she needs our prayers now. Lord, heal Bettelou!

Bette, I always check the Waiting Room to see if you're there. When you're not, I worry. I'm thinking of you and hoping for the very best. Loving hugs your way...

UPDATE Nov 4th- Tom here, it is with heavy heart, but Bette's chemo therapy was stopped, it was not working. Bette and I have decided that the clinical trial was stopped by the doctors, we have a consultation with Hospice. Bette's pain is worse and the tumors are causing fevers. Bette's wish is to have quality of life by monitoring her pain/fever. It was a hard decision and we prayed with our Pastor Gale. Hospice is about living the best quality of life. Bette may come home Friday if her pain is managed. We are praying for a miracle because we know God is in control. Bette is at peace. Love Tom & Bette
Just wanted to share the latest post .....it was hard to read this after all she has been through....

Thinking of you both this morning, Bette and Tom, heavy hearted to read your post. Please let Bette know her friends here are encircling her as she battles this beast. May her doctors find a way for true pain relief, and may light shine bright on Bette to warm her and give her sustenance.

This was posted on Nov 28th by Tom:
It is with sadness in my heart and great joy for my beloved wife Bette George Dietrick went to her heavenly reward at1:55am. There is a bit more in the short paragraph on her caringbridge website which has a few details regarding her funeral.
My heart goes out to Tom and all of their family in this sad time. I didn't know Bette extremely well, but I felt as though she was a friend. She was such a caring and beautiful person. I will miss her.

Thank you bethaib---I just read the note.
I will miss Bette; I got to know her through other threads. So sad.

Very sad tonight upon reading this. Bette demonstrated remarkable faith in her Saviour, and now she rests embraced by other angels too. May they similarly reach down and comfort Tom and the family.
Bette was a True Believer.

I did not know Bette very well but I found her spirit and faith so inspiring. Praying for peace and strength for Tom and Bette's family.
