How to STOP ITCHING!!!

Options

They said hydrocortizone cream...Didn't touch it at all and I am itching to high heaven..trying not to scratch, but it is not easy.  Yes, I am going to let them know about it tomorrow.  Any thoughts?  I am not wearing a bra...just a loose t shirt and I am using that "My girls radiation cream"  I am thankful for the severed nerves from the surgery...at least they are not itching right now.

The only thing that helped me was a prescription for Atarax ( this is generic name).  I also used MY Girls, not to much avail.  If you take an atarax, you will stop itching within 10 minutes for several hours.  ask your rad onc for a RX,  it sure is worth it.

Colette, why did you decide not to use the corisone cream? It really does help with the itching. I used a mild OTC one (1% hydrocotisone) and it was very helpful.

Leah...the cortizone cream didn't help at all.  They then told me to use benadryl which did finally help and I did get some relief...even though it makes me sleepy.  I don't understand why it helps, but it does.  Thanks for all the suggestions.
