vitamin question

I have a hard time swallowing big pills and have found at least one multivitamin that is fairly easy to swallow.  Twinlabs Daily One caps.  Still, I almost choke every time.

My question is:  Can I just open the gelatin capsule and dump the contents in something to eat or drink and take them that way?  What will disguise the taste?  I'm assuming it isn't very palatble but I don't know for sure.

Tina: With tablets or capsules.   Put dosage in a sandwich bag, lay it on a strong counter and then use some kind of hard solid utinsil and smash the pills into powder.  Then add the powder to applesauce or into orange juice.  I also cannot swallow and I add my 2 Calcium tablets in this way to warm cream of wheat in the morning. Be aware that ingestion of some pills effect other prescriptions you might be taking.  Have your pharmasist check if any counter active.  You might have to wait for 2 hours after some kinds of medication before taking some supplements.  Also be aware that some supplemants do not absorb properly if taken with some find of food. Hope this helps.  Always check ingredients to be sure there is no SOY.  Most liquid supplements contain soy.  Good luck     Cathey from Indiana

Thanks, girls.  I don't take any meds so I'm gonna try dumping the contents of the caps into applesauce.  Good idea!

Tina ~  Next time you're in a natural foods market, you might ask if they have a liquid multi.  I'm familiar with one that's available on-line, and while it doesn't have quite a many nutrients as a complete multiple, it would solve the swallowing issue.    Deanna
