Ok, I am freaking out...saw my rads onc today and I mentioned that I noticed a brownish discharge from my GOOD nipple when I squeeze...so now I am getting a mammogram and ultrasound. He said probably nothing, but he wants to make sure...I feel panic building up inside...has anyone else had something like this? I am hoping that it is another SE from chemo...

Lovin the hair. Mine too has grown about the same, totaly the same color as before.
I pretty much have been going topless everywhere, except when I know there may be small children. It seems to either freak them out or they just laugh their a@@'s off at me.
Mechele,
No, no no nothing can be wrong (((((HUGS)))))
When I read all ya'alls post I still feel quite blessed to be doing so well. the long ride to and from is nothing but a thing compared to some of your problems. May all of you have a better day!!!~~

Hi girls just checking in been busy back to work and the household seems to think since mom is back to work no more helping out.....but my whining is getting some response. Having lots of neuropothy in my feet they are numb by the end of the day and drive me crazy, anyone else that did Taxol having this problem? Onc perscribed me Lyrica but side effects are off the charts.
Alicia:Congrats on the new foobies!!!
Michele: Positive thoughts and prayers your way girl that all is only s/e.
Cafelvr: Great news on the shrinking of that nasty cancer.
Good day to all of you
-
HI Sherri
my WBCs got down to 1.1 and delayed my 4th chemo and last EC chemo by a week - (now i am on taxotere i get the Neulasta shot). My counts went up from 1.1 - 6.4 in a week so replenished really quickly.
Good luck
hugs
Philippa

Mouse...neuropathy is what is making my onc take me off chemo and bumping up my surgery date. Instead of completing the Taxol and risk having permanent numbness, my one pea-sized spot on my liver is going to be ablated. I'll still do the Herceptin & Zometa. The neuropathy is only in my hands/fingers...not in my feet (Yet)...
Other than Lyrica, there is Neurotin. My onc recommended a B Complex vitamin and I've heard the glucosamine is supposed to be good. Haven't tried it or researched it. I'm kind of a scaredy cat when it comes to supplements and chemo drugs. I won't even drink grapefruit juice...
-
Michelle, when do you go for your mammo?
-
waiting for an appointment
-
Mouse: I am on Taxol also, I am taking glucosamine and my Onc in OK with that. I am taking it for the joint pain, I didn't know it was supposed to help with neuropathy, too. I think my Onc said B6 may prevent neuropathy. I need to pick up some.

Hoping all "Warriors' have a fantastic weekend!!!!

if need be, may your scheduled surgery e a breeze for you this upcoming Tuesday!!!!!
I found the lumpectomey to be one of the easiest things I have had to deal with thoughout this journey. So, just hang in there Warrior Girlfriend !~
Mechele,
Please try not to worry,
YIKES, I know easier said than done, but I really don't believe there can be anything else wrong!!! Try to enjoy this beautiful weekend!!~~~~
((((((((((WARRIOR HUGS))))))))))

Cafelvr: My feet didnt start bothering me until after I was done with Taxol. I have been taking a supplement Alpha Lipoic Acid for the nerve damage. The Lyrica is for nerve pain but still havent taken yet.
I have went back on some old blogs and there is a lot of complaining of muscle weakness and nerve damage from Taxol. Most say over a year before they started feeling better. First thing in the morning is bad feel like my legs are 80 yrs old. Staying positive this too shall pass.

Well... foobies are still sore but I have been up and about. For some reason, stool softener, laxatives and miralax have yet to get my bowels moving. I am feeling pregnant I am so bloated it as been days................. TMI I know ~ Drains will be in till next Thursday. I have to say my underarms area feels so much more normal now that the tissue expanders are gone. I am exhausted but still running around, driving kids all over and doing light housework. Have to go get a new front close support bra for Thursdays dr appt when the drains come out. Michele... Hope you are not worrying too much ~ I am praying for you.
Hugs to all.

Alicia, I found two great front zip sports bras at JC Penneys...by Underscore..
Thinking of you Michele.. Hugs
Today was my 7th T/ H treatment.... Met with My Oncologist in infusion area , got talking about how I was feeling etc...told her How I wake up everynight around 3 am , just lay there for an hr before I fall back asleep, I feel sweaty, not where Ihave to change my night shirt...then of course thinking about family , BC and the all ..... I told her I only cry at a good movie, always have though. she suggested an anti depressant drug if I want.... I told her no.....she thinks because of the way I have handled all of this that it is going to hit me when Im 3 months out.. Are any of you girls on an anitdepressant ? we shall see if she is right when Im done with my 12 weeks well 5 left ,
we had wonderful weather today, wish we had a window in my infusion room ... I fell asleep anyway from the premeds , straight through the taxol and herceptin......
Enjoy the weekend, no matter what you are doing !
hugs

Alicia: Correct me if I am wrong, but I think what you have is noobies (new boobies) as opposed to foobies (fake boobies). I am sending the poopy fairy your way as I am going several times a day.
Cathy: They put me on 50mg Zoloft when I was diagnosed. That is pretty low, I don't know if it does much. I wake up at 2AM and have trouble getting back to sleep. I don't like people assuming a nervous breakdown is in my future.
-
Cathy, I too am on an anti depressant. I take 20 mg of Celexa. I was very hesitant to go on it, but it works! It takes away the hot flashes, so I was able to quit taking the Neurontin. ( I hope I'm spelling this crap correctly! ) It won't be forever!!! I am only on this during this journey. We can't always be on the sunny side of life!!!
(((HUGS))) Sisters.
Congrats on the NF(oobies), Alicia!!
-
Cathy: What's with oncs and depression. I told mine I was teary (caused by the herceptin I believe) and he asked if I was depressed. Of course we're depressed but not necessarily needing drugs for it. I've noticed about 10 days after a treatment I get teary, so what, I can live with it.
Well, we're off to the beach again on Monday for a week. It will be a nice break between chemo and rads starting. DH says I won't have to cook - I'm going to hold him to it - believe me.
I'll catch up with you all when I get back.
Meanwhile - (((((HUGS))))) to all still having chemo.
Sue

Hmmm... Melinda not sure what I have... New boobies that are fake. ?! LOL Whatever they are they are softening up and looking good. I put on a sports bra and put a shirt on and they look good. They are on the small side, sort of the size they were before I gained weight !! They look pretty natural too. I will share pictures on the forum real soon if I can figure it all out. I want to give others hope like so many have for me on that site. AND I got that exact bra in JC penney that zips up the front in a 36c. A bit snug but feels good and they want me to hold them in place. I go to the PS on Thursday to have drains removed. Its fun trying to hide these under my clothing.
Anti-depressants. They wanted to put me on Cymbalta or Wellbutrin when I was on chemo, I was so anxious and crying. I said no because I had a bitch of a time getting off them 2 years ago. So they gave me an ativan for when I get myself all worked up and upset. Sometimes I think you need to let it out... it is when I feel like I am having a melt down I take the ativan.
Sue Enjoy the BEACH !!! Sounds wonderful ~ I took my beach chair and sat by the water this week with my girlfriend it was about a 70 degree day !!! It was lovely ~
Have a good weekend girls !
Alicia -
Cathy My regular dr. tried to put me on Cymbalta but I decided not to take it as of course we are depressed we are in the fight of our lives. I got worst on Taxol because I hated the bone pain. My onc decided to try me on Ativan and that helps me alot. It doesnt put you to sleep but once you are asleep you are out.
Alicia Glad to hear your doing good with your new foobies. I am curious as to how many cc's you ended up with and what type of implant you got. If you would please PM me and fill me in. I am at 500cc and starting to feel really tight and uncomfortable.
-
Mouse ~ I got anatomical shaped saline implants filled to 475 ccs. They are perfect size for me.
I was filled to 490cc's with my TE's. -
Good morning Warriors! Hope you all had a decent weekend, I'm still not feeling well but I'm much better than I was. Still have pounding headaches and a sore throat that won't seem to go away but I'm still faithfully taking my antibiotic so if its a sinus infection, hopefully it will be gone soon.
Michele- Continuing to send prayers your way. Have you gotten your appointment date yet?
Alicia- Glad to hear you are doing well. I also use ativan on a regular basis. It helps me sleep better through the night sweats and chills me out (so my DH and kids say)
Sue - Rads will be over before you know it! I have two more tx's left and I'm done, then on to the dreaded Tamoxifen. I was wondering if I would get some kind of scan or something "just to make sure" but from what I've heard, those that are Stage 1 don't get any scans unless they have unexplained pain that won't go away.
(((HUGS))) ~ Toyah

Well it is back to work for me today...excited and dreading it all at the same time...still doing rads...4 more to go.
-
Michele: please let us know when you get the appt. We're all waiting to hear. Prayers for all to be fine.
Either I'm still fighting the thrush, or my taste buds are whacked out due to the Taxol. Anyone who is done with Taxol have taste bud issues still?
I take Ativan, as needed. Still use it on the days I meet with my rad onc after my session. I get nervous those days in particular. Just started my 3rd week of rad with 3 more after this one.
Mommy2two: Sorry you're not feeling well still. Hopefully, the antibio will kick in soon. Why is the Tamoxifen "dreaded?" Just wondered. I'll be taking Arimidex starting in May. Read some horrible side effects, but I also understand how that goes: CYA'ing for the drug company, such that all of the SE's have to be mentioned but not necessarily experienced.
Was beautiful weather in the D.C. area over the weekend, but rain today. Glad I got out and enjoyed it when it was here. Nette
-
Nette- I dread the Tamoxifen because of all the potential SE's. I guess I will be thankful that I have a medicine to take to help prevent recurrence instead of dreading something that may or may not happen. Glad you had nice weather over the weekend. First day of spring brought snow, sleet, and cold temps to Texas but its warm and sunny today (of course it is...I'm at work)!!

Toyah ~ I dread the tamoxifen too. A week from today I have to start swallowing mine. I really hope your cold goes away and you start to feel better soon. This one has thrown you for a loop. The spring weather this weekend, had me planting flowers and cleaning up my porch and stuff. I am so excited for my new set to come for my porch so I can lay out there and relax with a good book. My mom has got me real down but that is a long story........ she just isn't a MOM.
I hope everyone is doing well. I think of you all often.
Sorry if I'm rambling..

Toyah&Alicia My first time with cancer I took Tamoxifen for 8 months. I only had some mood swings the first few weeks and my eyesight started to get worse but it could of been getting older too. Other than that all was good and eyesight still hasnt gotten better so must of been getting older. LOL
