Michelle: "boobie burn" LOL, good luck with that, I have a cousin doing rads right now, she has calendula cream that she uses to help her skin. Have they recommended anything to you?
Mickey: Have you decided what surgery you are going to have? Good luck.
Jojo: Congrats on your last chemo!

mommy2two:
Does Hubby-dearest have a sinus headache? I feel so badly for him, I'm sorry that he has to go through that. Maybe Doronet could run over and give him a neck rub, and maybe Grandma Mickey could mow the lawn for him this week. Would that help?
Poor thing. I sure hope he feels better soon.
I tell you what, you have him give Shara a call. We'll have just a quick little chat. I'll let him know the best cure for a sinus headache. You know, it's really simple, step one is tylenol and for step two he just has to GET HIS HEAD OUT OF HIS ASS! Step three will be easy for him, he just has to listen while I do all the talking. ONCE HE HEARS FROM ME ABOUT JUST HOW BAD IT IS GONNA GET AROUND THERE IF HE DOESN'T SHAPE UP, you are going to find dinner on the table and the kids all ready for bed every night for a long long time, IF HE KNOWS WHAT'S GOOD FOR HIM! -
Yep, just have him give ol' Shara a call. It won't take long. Have him do it on Friday which is day 4 for me, I've usually got some good words for anyone and everyone who comes near me on Day 4! For the next three months you will hear him repeating this phrase over and over again, whenever you need something done:
"Okay honey, okay! I'll do it , I'll do it! You sit down and rest, I'll take care of it! No, please honey, no, just don't get that crazy psycho bitch on the phone again, no....pleeeeaaase!!!!"
-
SharaD: LMAOPSOTF! Pass the bong to mommy2two! (I was contemplating a little ganja and someone told me to go easy, they don't make it the same as they did 20 years ago!)
-
SharaD , You are the best cure for a bad day...who needs weed. Could you come to my place..soon.
-
SharaD: Do you want to move to Australia? I would sponsor you.
Sue
-
SharaD, you sure know how to bring a smile to people's faces!
I found out today that I have to have a blood transfusion on Friday! My RBC count is way too low. I wasn't going to get a treatment today, but I agreed to come back. That's why I've been so tired and not being able to sleep. She said the counts were at there lowest since starting chemo, and that it was a SE from the AC. She also said that they should have rebounded on their own by now. Now here's the bitch of it...IT'S A FIVE-HOUR INFUSION!!! Like I can find nothing better to do with my day. We're do for more snow that day, so who knows!
Hugs to all!
-
Cafelovr: Aren't you getting the Neulasta shot? I would think they would, because you are HER2+.
I didn't get it with my 2 AC's, but as soon as I went on to Taxotere, they put me on the Neulasta right away (protocol here with my oncs)
-
My WBC are within normal range. I took Neulasta with every AC tx. It made me feel beyond horrible! I couldn't cuddle my little girl, and I couldn't stand for my DH to touch me. I asked about iron supplements or a B12 shot, but they said it wouldn't work with my type of "chemonemia". Other than not being able to get off of the couch 5 out of 7 days, I feel fine...LOL She said I should start feeling better right away.
-
I was sceduled for 6 x 3weekly treatments of AC, but after 3 tx Onc Dr said some people's bodies can take it and some cannot. I was in the cannot category and she said it was too dangerous to continue. So I am now on 12 x weekly taxol.
I have had 3 tx so far and a Picc line inserted.
I waited this long to report, just in case I jinxed myself. But whoo hoo!! minimal side effects on taxol. What a relief, I can operate almost as normal and taste food. Still need lots of rests, but what the heck, thats doable.
So many Sisters on this journey, so many different cocktails and side effects.
My DH didn't believe me when I told him about the problems of having no pubic hair, until all of the correspondence on the subject. Mother always taught us to assume "The Stance" in public toilets, but it's no longer possible. Realised this after a couple of experiences of wetting the seat, the floor, my undies and the back of my slacks.
Warm Hugs to those not feeling well - calming vibes for those with the crankies.
-
OMG SharaD....TOO FUNNY! Reading your post was the perfect end to the day from hell. Hell, forget having him call you...you just need to come live with me so you can keep him in shape and share your bong!
Kayh - Glad your SE's are minimal this time, hope you continue to feel okay.
Cafelovr - I'm sorry that you have to go through all that but I hope it makes you feel much better
(((HUGS)))
Toyah -
Linda, blood transfusions are for a reason..get it and feel better..
Kayh, You are lucky that there was a second choice for you...glad it is working better than the last one..
-

CONGRATULATIONS Princess JOJO ~ you did it !!!! woo HOO
Toyah... so sorry about DH being a boob. They have no clue.
Linda... hoping that transfusion has you feeling better in no time. Sorry it is going to take some long. That is about what my Taxol infusions take from start to finish.
Kayh... sorry you couldn't tolerate the AC (yuck) but glad you are doing well on the TAXOL !
to everyone else ~ wishing you a good day.
Alicia -
Congrats JoJo, another monkey scales the wall!
-
oh and SharaD ~ I was laughing my butt off !!! Can you call my hubby?
Hi Melinda ~ hope you are doing good.
-
Cafelvr: Sorry to hear you have to have the transfusion, but maybe that's just what you need to get back your energy. My RBC has been low, but must not be as low as yours. My WBC was low for my last Taxol TX, which was my 7th and the first time it had been low since A/C and the Neulasta shots. Doesn't stop the TX, though, as it must be near zero for that to happen.
Problem for me now is the oral infection I can't seem to get rid of: thrush. Has my taste buds either making food taste totally horrible or no taste at all. Not sure which is better. I'm on my 3rd round of medication and nothing seems to be making it better. Have lost 7 lbs since the first of Jan. because food is as appealing as sex right now. (And that is zip.)
Only 2 more TX for me and I finally seem to be tolerating the Taxol. Thought it about time. Was blessed to never have the joint pain.
SharaD.: We definitely need you and your humor!!
Happy day wished with no SE for everyone!!!
-
Princess Jo-Jo,
I'm so happy for you. Now get out your magic WAND and make all the rest of us be done!
Mommy2two,
My hubby is normally the best, but he still doesn't get it. I still work full time I cook most of the meals, and do more in general than most on chemo. I could not afford to take time off period! He know I'm doing pretty good and yet he still doesn't understand. I know you and your hubby are still best friends! And just remember, we have to forgive our hubbies as we know they are the weaker of the sexes. I just hope mine realizes that when i start rads it won't be any picinic either!!~~~~
-
My DH is great, but sometimes he just does not get it...just yesterday he took an hour to go for a run while I stayed home and cleaned. When I left to go for groceries, he was on the sofa taking a nap and when I got home from an exhausting hour he was still on the couch..he didn't get off his poor exhausted ass to help me lug the groceries in the house or put them away...Thank goodness I have the special ability to bang cupboard doors and put away groceries loudly...perhaps I am just jealous that he has the energy to exercise, where I can barley make it up the stairs without taking a nap once I get there. I know I sound bitchy...he really is great and does help often..just had to vent since we were on the subject..
-
Sometimes I am so glad I am not married! Yeah, I have to do everything, but I don't have someone napping while I am doing it! And the kids don't make me feel guilty for napping, they appreciate the extra free time.
Doronet, so sorry to hear about the trush, sounds very uncomfortable.
Hope everyone is still plugging along in a forward manner!
-
My husbands idea of making dinner is having me stop at McD's on my way home from work. I'm not asking for a 5 course meal, I would take scrambled eggs or mac n cheese. Just so I can take a rest. And don't get pissy when I say I have to be in bed at 7:30pm. I get up for work at 4:30am and am still late for work almost every day. And I don't see you making my lunch or breakfast either. He loads the dishwasher if I leave it till morning, when I have more energy, if he can't stand to look at the dirt dishes. And when he needs clear jeans he does laundry if I am at work. And don't get me started on the sex thing again. You just don't understand if you haven't gone through it. And no matter what I say he will never understand.
-
I agree...our DH's are never going to understand. Oh well, despite that I guess we still can't help but love them!
Something rather strange happened to me today. When I checked my Facebook account, there was a message in my inbox from someone I had never heard of before. When I read it, the lady told me that she worked in the pathology department at Baylor Hospital and she recognized my name because she always prays for a person when they get a positive result for cancer. She went on to say that she was aware she was violating HIPPA guidelines but she just wanted me to know she was still praying for my full recovery. I'm still not sure what to think about that yet....maybe I should just be grateful that I have one extra person praying for me.
Well I'm getting some rest tonight, hubby is gone to coach his girls basketball team and kids are spending the night with my mom. I'm gonna kick back and watch Grey's Anatomy!
Good night Warriors, sleep well!
Toyah
-
Toyah: That sounds really weird, wouldn't she have to be searching for your name. It wouldn't just appear.
I'm going out for lunch today and asked my DH if he wanted to make his lunch for him. Guess the answer.
Diagnosis: 10/13/2009, ILC, 1cm, Stage I, Grade 3, 0/5 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2+

Hi Guys! Thought I'd post some thing very pleasant. Went to a free "Brighter Days" seminar yesteday - local dermatologist does a group "consultation" on the effects of chemo and radiation on your skin. He does a general explanation and then goes to each lady and checks their skin letting you know whats up. We got free products (not sample size) geared to each of us. He mentioned that if we use Rogaine (got a free one) after chemo it will jump start our hair growing. He also will give those who lose their eyelashes FREE Latisse - that new stuff. Isn't that wonderful! There are great people out there It's in Chico CA and it's on the first wednesday of the month. If you live anywhere near here PM me and I'll give you the details.
Also tried acupuncture for the neuropathy in my hands/feet - I'll keep you all posted on that. Weird but it didn't hurt - Stay Strong!
CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE THAT COMPLETED CHEMO!
-
Toyah ~ that sounds creepy. I don't like it ~ and she is breaking the law. I would not accept her friend request. I am on FB too. Search for me ~ Alicia DeBlasio.
Mickey that seminar sounds nice. I will have to get me some Rogaine and maybe Latisse.
Hope everyone is having a good day, this is my best day since chemo, and 3 more sleeps till MY last one !
-
Alicia and Toyah, I am also on FB Michele Pantin Lebouthillier that is if you want to be my friend....
-
Alicia - I agree and I did ignore her friend request. I love FB to stay in touch with my friends/family that live out of state, I will send you a friend request.
Michele - Well of course I want to be your friend, I will send you a request also!
Hope everyone has a great weekend! I am not looking forward to Monday...I will be getting another breast MRI to monitor the 2 suspicious spots that showed up on my first MRI in August that they couldn't get to for a biopsy.
-
I'm on FB too! Linda Randolph-Justice.
Got my two pints of blood transfusion. I got there at 10 a.m. and walked out the door at 4:15. I'm exhausted! The nurse said it would take a couple of days to kick in. Right now, I'm just so tired. I cannot sleep for some reason. I've been up since 3:30 this a.m. It's been rainy cold here. I'm ready for spring!!!
-
My husband is coming home tomorrow!!! Yippee! Though I am not looking forward to sharing my bed with the human furnace, my night sweats are already out of control - so I can't imagine how hot its going to be with him in bed!
Linda - glad the transfusion went well. Hopefully you'll feel the benefits soon.
Toya - totally creepy.
Grandma Mickey - let us know about the acupuncture.. I'm scheduled to go in late Feb for a session and am a bit nervous about it.
I'm on FB too... Michele Frazer is my name.
Have a great weekend!
