Getting flu shot while on herceptin

Anyone on herceptin taken the flu shot?  Is it recommended, does it affect the herceptin or does the herceptin affect the flu vaccine?

I had the flu shot last year but that was 4 weeks before starting chemo...not sure if it matters that I'm on herceptin.

last yr I got flu shot while on taxol and herceptin weekly.  Onco said to be SURE to get one.   This yr I am done with all tx, so will get in next few days.

I got one on day after my last Herceptin this week. I get one every year and haven't gotten the flu since I started (though I have of course gotten colds).

I don't think that Herceptin affects the choice of getting a flu vaccine. The considerations on getting or not getting the flu vaccine are the same as for a person not on Herceptin. My HMO encourages everyone who can to get the flu shot.

I had one during my Herceptin as well, last Fall.

I am on Herceptin for 11 months now.  I got a flu shot on Tuesday.  No worries.

Same here.  Herceptin this past Wednesday, flu shot today.  Doc says perfectly fine.

I am on Hercepton and just had my flu shot. So far, so good. My arm is a little sore, since they have to give it in your muscle. I have until January 20l0. I will have been on Hercepton for one year.

Hello, I am on Herceptin and I just received my Flu Vaccine the day of my treatment Thursday. My doctor said better to have it. I sure hope that helps.
