Mammo or MRI?

Which is better for finding and diagnosing BC, digital mammography or MRI or both?

    Please don't take this as an expert opinion but... I think MRI is more detailed but does have a greater risk of false positive findings.  My oncologist prefers mammograms for that reason, she says.

    I don't think there is any clear cut answer.  My tumor did not show on mammogram or MRI.  It only showed up on Ultrasound. In my case, they knew I had a solid mass because the doctor's could feel it, I just have very dense breasts so the tumor did not show up.  Thank goodness for the Ultrasound.  Pam is correct - MRI's do have more false positive findings.

    A BSGI is the most recent diagnostic tool for finding cancer.  The tracing agent goes through your whole body and adheres to the cancer cells.  You can see the screen and the results yourself.  It is recommended for women with dense breasts, scar tissue and implants.  I was lucky my bs is one of the 35 in the nation that has it.  The test didn't hurt (beside the bee sting injection in my foot) and was right on the nose!  Or in my breast, rather!
