"Living Proof" Herceptin movie update

I just wanted to put a new post out there about the Herceptin Movie "Living Proof" . There is another post that has it showing on Oct 18th......It is actually going to be on the Lifetime Movie Network (LMN) this Thurs Oct 8th. Make sure you check the listing if you are planning on watching. It is not on regular Lifetime channel. Just a heads up!

About Living Proof

"Living Proof" is the true story of oncologist and researcher Dr. Dennis Slamon, the UCLA doctor who helped develop the breast cancer drug Herceptin, and his effort to keep the drug trials afloat. His inspiring journey shows the sacrifices he makes in his personal life and the obstacles that he faces to get the drug approved. Thousands of lives have been saved because of his dedication. (Based on Robert Bazell's book "Her-2.") Renée Zellweger, Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, and screenwriter Vivienne Radkoff are the executive producers.

This is on tonight.  Definitely recommend it to anyone who was or is being treated with Herceptin.

Saw the movie last year too, and it was great!!

omg.....just to see that the movie starts out in 1988.....I was just out of high school then. Who knew that I would be taking Herceptin all these years later. I never knew what a struggle it was to have a drug approved. How lucky those of us HER2 positive ladies are to have someone like Dr. Slamon out there. The movie had me in tears......but they were good tears knowing that I am benefitting from all of dertermination of others. Watching that movie really made me feel blessed.

If you read the book (Her-2) on which the movie is based, you will feel extremely lucky as well as blessed. The tools at Genentech nearly killed the Herceptin project more than once.
