curious!!!

is it true that when you have your chemo treatment you cannot take any vitamins/multivtamins because according to the oncologist that this could affect the chemotherapy drugs... is that so?... thats kinda weird... please advise.

    You aren't supposed to take large does of antioxidants during chemo. From what I understand, they go after free radicals in your system, and chemo drugs (and rads too) act in a manner that mimics free radicals.

    I think it depends on the oncologist.

    I also was told to stay away from antioxident supplements.  It interferes with some chemos (prevents them from attacking the cancer cells).  I was told I could take a regular multivitamin but I rarely did, just to be on the "safe" side... I figured if I'm going through the h### of chemo, I want to give it every chance to work!  You can always look at the internet drug sites and see what it says for your chemo drugs, and also be like I am and bug your oncologist with more questions :)  I never hesitate to ask his office or him if I don't understand something.  Best of luck....
