FALSE POSITIVE MRI
Hi Everyone,
I just had a biopsy yesterday. I had a breast MRI last week that came back positive for three malignancies. Now I'm in wait mode, my doctor has all but said it is cancer. I'm just really worried and scared. Has anyone ever had a positive MRI that turned to be not positive?
Thanks,
Jessica

Hi flmom30,
I just recently had a biopsy that was positive, then breast mri, and the mri showed there is something they want to look at in the OTHER breast (that was not seen on mammo), and now they want to biopsy my other breast, too. So I can't really answer your question, but I too am terrified.

Hi Milena,
I am sorry to hear about your positive biopsy. My doctor's office just called to let me know that the results are back, and he is reviewing them and will call me shortly. So now I'm wondering what a quick result means. It has been such a roller coaster. I know what you mean about being terrified, I don't think that I have ever been more afraid in my life.

flmom, I had a false positive MRI on my "good" side a year after I finished chemo/rads. Biopsy was negative. Hoping yours is negative, too, but if is isn't, I'm glad you found us here. You'll get great support.
Good luck, and keep us posted. I know how stressful this is.

And, welcome, Milena, too. Sorry to hear of your diagnosis--good luck with the second biopsy, and keep us posted, too.

Nash,
Is there anyway that you could pm me I have a few questions I would love to ask
Thanks,
Jessica

Hi Nash and all,
Had the mri biopsy done yesterday. I now have a totally purple but hopefully NOT malignant left breast. The biopsy was a rough ride: as my husband and I were leaving the hospital, I looked down to see blood all over my sweater and jeans. We returned to the hospital and they wrapped my chest tighter with ace bandages. They told me I developed a hematoma. I'm hoping there will be no further complications with this second biopsy. It is so comforting, DENRulzBC, to know that there ARE false positives.

Milena, hope you're feeling better today. Hematomas are no fun! Glad the biopsy is over though, and let us know when you get the results.

Nash---
The biopsy result in left breast indicates a papilloma. I am told it will need to be excised. Breast is still totally purple, like a grape! I'm wondering if the radiologist who did my mri biopsy was a resident (biopsy done in large teaching hospital). Does anyone know anything about papilloma?
