hi.  i am 47 and finished treatment last year.  I have gotten hot flashes from my third treatment on.  I get very very sweaty at times.  Actually, they just started easing off a bit.  I am definitely in menopause.

    am i answering your question?

I'm 33 and recently started getting hot flashes (I just completed TAC cycle 5) but I'm still getting my period, and getting it MORE often than usual.  Sorry, that probably wasn't very helpful.

I am triple negative and do not take any hormones.  I take multivitamin, 1000 iu Vitamin D3, 500 mg of calcium and 250 mg. of Magnesium.  Otherwise that is it.

I joined a phase 3 clinical trial for bisphosphonates which I will be on for three years.

    How about you?

shanthi - I am 44.  I am in chemopause, or menopause - currently going thru radiation.  I have the hot flashes at night and was VERY sweaty this summer - when it was very hot.  It has cooled off now so I am not noticing it as much.  My doctor gave me a prescription for Neurontin for the hot flashes and night waking as I was getting virtually no sleep.

I will go on hormone therapy after radiation (I am er/pr+).  I will be taking mega vitamins when rads are done - now am taking 4,000 iu D3 as my vitamin D level was low.  I live in Seattle which is why I think my vita D level was low.  I would think in India you get plenty of sun!

From what others say, the hot flashes will diminish with time.

lorrie, what is phase 3 clinical trial for bio phosphates?my oncologist did not suggest the above one.in india we get plenty of sun.i think no extra vitamine d is required.this time surely i discuss the matter with my oncologist.
