Yoga and Breast Cancer

My name is Laura Boitano, and I am an undergraduate at Georgetown University. I am conducting my senior thesis research study which is looking at yoga and its effects on the immune status of breast cancer patients. I am currently recruiting breast cancer patients for the yoga and non-yoga group. This is a survey type study, so bi-weekly I will ask you several questions about your health. (That shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.) You don't have to be in the DC area to participate; individuals may come from across the country. If you or anyone you know may be interested in participating in this study, please e-mail me at ltb5@georgetown.edu. If you have any questions, or would like to know more about the study, don't hesitate to e-mail me. Thanks, Laura Boitano

    Hi Laura,

Just wondering - how will you measure the immune status of breast cancer patients with a survey type study?

    Thanks,

This is a pilot study so I am just trying to see if there is any sort of connection for a future bigger study. The survey questions will focus on health, cold symptoms and stress. I am looking at the incidence of colds to determine whether the patient has a better immune status. Questions also focus on extraneous variables that may suppress immunity so that I can further determine the patients immune status. Hope that makes sense.
