American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer!
Good Afternoon! I wanted to take a moment and let everyone know about The American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k walk!
Our Walk is on Sunday September 27th @ 10am in Everett, WA http://www.snohomishcountystrides.org/ but there are Making Strides Events all over the United States!
MakingStrides.ACSevents.org Go here and click on your state and find the closet event to you!
This event is a great way to get out in your community! 100% of the funds we raise go directly to the cause! 40% goes to education, advocacy and research! and 60% helps fund the Breast & Cervical Heath Program in the Snohomish County and in Washington State! Which is an important program because it helps fund underprivileged women to get their mammograms and pap test, because early detection is key in saving lives!
Everyone is invited to our Event! All Ages are Welcome! There is NO Registration Fee! And no minimum fundraising required to partake! You set your own goal! You can do as little as you'd like or as much as you'd like! Some donate just as much as they can others go out and fundraise and raise 2500 and become a pacesetter where they get special thanks and recognition throughout the event!
Also Dogs are allowed at our walk! They are not at all Strides Events however just at Snohomish County Strides that i am aware of. Dogs however due to liability reason do require a 10 dollar registration fee and a waver filled out. But for that 10 dollars and registering you and your dog will receive a complimentary biodegradable doggy waste bag from FlushDoggy.com along with a few treats to keep them motivated through the walk and of course a breast cancer ribbon patterned doggy bandanna to wear at the event!
Also this is the year of the survivors! So we are having a huge Breast Cancer Survivor Celebration! So even if you cannot walk or are still undergoing treatment and think it would be best not to walk, please still come out to the park! We will award all breast cancer Survivors with medals! And celebrate them being there!
Even if you are not a breast cancer survivor and do not want to walk but would like to come to are event please do so! We will have an onsite fundraising fair! Like a mini festival set up with booths! Providence hospital will be there with lots of health related booths and some fun crafts and game booths! There will be a live DJ and good tunes for all!
So we hope to see you there! Registration starts at 9am the walk begins at 10am! And Festivites go into the afternoon!
