off to Gerson
Hi Everyone,
I'm taking off from the 5th-11th to get Gerson treatment at a clinic in Hawaii. I will let you know how it goes. So far I've done the Gerson as best as I can on my own since i got diagnosed (but its hard to stick with it 100%). I do the Gerson about 70-90% of the week. I'm not forsaking Western medicine. I finished 6 months of chemo. Between both the chemo and Gerson- after only two months- my scans revealed no evidence of cancer. Now I finished 6 months of chemo and 6 months of 70-90% Gerson. I have a scan tomorrow- cross your fingers!...I've also been exercising too.

I didn't know hawaii has a gerson clinic. I hope you feel great after your visit. How are you feeling now? I hope you tell us all about your experience. I subscribe to the iodine yahoo group and one of the members there survived cancer with gerson 20 years ago. Love to hear those success stories. I see your dx is stage IV. Is this your first dx and it was stage IV from the get go? I'd love to see you kick some cancer ass!

Mary-
I recently saw the movie "Dying to have Known" and I am very interested in Gerson. I have also seen the movie "The Beautiful Truth". I didn't know that they could do treatment in the US, I thought you had to go to Mexico but I have never checked on it. I did look at the Norwalk juicer and they are expensive but I think you could get one on ebay maybe. There is a book called "Cancer Battle Plan" by Ann Frome (I think) and another book called "Living Proof" (can't remember author) and they are all similar to Gerson.
Good luck with your treatment. Please make sure to give us some feedback. I know that I would try Gerson myself if it ever becomes necessary.

Hi Althea,
The certified Gerson clinic is in Mexico. The clinic in Hawaii used to be certified- but in 2008 its dissociated itself from the Gerson Institute.
Right now I feel good. I can't complain too much. I still jog, mountain bike, road bike and rock climb. So I'm not sure if its cuz I'm doing the Gerson or if its cuz I'm just damned stubborn to have my life as normal as possible.
I was not Stage IV from the get-go. I was Stage 2 in 2005. This go around is a reoccurence.
Yes-I too would like a success story!!!
I'll let you know how it goes.

Hi MJ6266,
I had the pleasure of listening to Charlotte Gerson lecture this weekend and she is really something! She said that she cancelled her medical insurance at 34 and that she knows plenty of doctors but does not have one herself. I can't remember how old she is but she is strong and alert for any age. I am looking into her therapy also. I wanted to speak with her directly but there were too many people who wanted to speak with her.Maybe next year. I saw a demo of the Norwalk and I would love to have one. Charlotte Gerson recommened the Champion as an alternative I believe which of course costs much less.
I wish you the best,
Carole

I too have looked into Gerson but was told by one of their reps that I couldn't do both Gerson and chemo at same time. I'm curious about how you handled this.
I'm about to embark on my chemo journey again but have given very serious thought to Gerson. Alot of hard work with no guarantees. Very difficult choices. I'm wondering if anyony out there has used Gerson and has had success!
Hopeful
