anyone heard of slightly pr+
Ok....I finished my 12 weekly taxol yesterday. I got to see my DR. I will start (FAC) in two weeks. I will do 4 of those once every three weeks. While visiting with the DR. I asked about my pathology report which stated ER 0%, PR3%, Pathologist stated (Borderline). The Her2 negative.
Well she said she looks at anything under 10% as negative. That way she (treats it as Triple Negative) I said ok... She then stated when we are done with treatment we can talk about Endocrine Therapy.....
I went on and did chemo....I have been thinking about this though.....Am I the only odd ball here.....All this just confuses me and I just cant wrap my head around it. Any insight would be very appreciated......

Hi.
I thought I was alone. My pathology is like yours!
Left breast IDC: ER-, PR 4%, HER2-
Right breast DCIS: ER 4%, PR 4%, HER2-
My Onc. treats it as hormone positive and has me on Femara (and Lupron to keep me chemopausal). Insurance is throwing a fit, but my doctor and I are fighting back.
We are a rare bunch... we should chat on this!

WOW....yes we are rare.....I am so glad you answered this. So does your Oncologist think the hormone therapy will help? Yes we do need to chat on this. I have not gotten to that point with the insurance company. We just discussed the 3% PR issue. I will PM you later....Thanks a bunch

Well....am now doing radiation treatment. I have completed #18 of 30. Oncologist said no to any hormone therapy. She does not feel it would be of any benefit....mmmmm....still very strange to be 3%pr.
-
Wow. Surprised to see nobody else wrote into this thread. Are we really that rare?
-
Tell me about it....I have searched HIGH AND LOW.....I have been away from the boards....YA KNOW DOING THE TREATMENT STUFF....Guess we are that RARE!!!!!!
-
I was 5% PR+ when I first had bc. My onc and I decided anti-hormonals were probably not going to give me any benefit. I am now in recurrence and the biopsy came back TN, so in my case it was a good call.
-
Hello Cathy-CA....I hope you are doing well. Thanks for stopping in and posting. Very interesting.....I will not be on any Hormone therapy.....

Hi am er neg pr 2% and her neg, same thing I'm counted as a triple negative, reccomended course 6 sessions of chemo, which I dont want to do, doc says I have a 50% chance of recurrence if I dont do the chemo. wish they had something else.
-
kwp----sorry you had to join this club... My last day of chemo was 11-16-2009. I am currently doing radiation. I had a double mastectomy on 5-21-2009. I am scheduled for 30 radiation treatments of which I have 8 more left. I have not yet done reconstruction. My Oncologist told me WITHOUT chemo I would have a 60 to 80% chance it would recur. WITH chemo I would lower it 30%. She never has talked PERCENTS other than the first appt....So I did the math and thought well......50% chance...I dont know how doing radiation lowers that. As you read I was 3% positive for pr....none on the er or her2. There are some WONDERFUL ladies here. May God Bless You....
Defeat- I hope you are doing well.......

Hi angelsabove.
Doing well, and looking forward to my 2nd Cancerversary this March.
Regarding the weak receptors, insurance threw a bigger fit with Lupron+Femara. They claim that they don't like the idea of me being forced into menopause to take Femara. My Onc and I know that that is "Bull"! The real reason is because they don't want to pay ~$800 a month for those meds. (I have a PPO insurance)
So, I'm being switched to Tamoxifen, which is cheaper because it's been around for quite some time. Wow, it's a real hassel when you are a borderline case!
I'm trying to think positively by looking forward to coming out of menopause... sigh.
How are you doing? Hope all is well.

Hey Defeat....I am doing pretty good. I just completed #30 of my 32 radiation treatments today....TWO MORE......
I am not getting any hormone therapy maybe that is because of the WHOLE insurance thing. I have a private insurance.....THIS IS SOOOOO expensive. I am trying to eat LOTS of WHOLE foods....trying to juice and do lots of supplements. Probably TOO much....but atleast it makes me feel as though I am doing something.......CONGRATS on the TWO YEARS.....KEEP EM COMING GIRL!!!!!!!
I am SO worried about ending treatment on Friday.....Will I feel lost....Ya know been doing this WHOLE fighting the cancer thing since APRIL 2009.....WOW.....9-10 months....THAT IS NEARLY A YEAR......now what do I do?????? UUUUGGHHHHH I hate this.....
Ok well I am suppose to go back to LIVING....ok....that is what I do.....
LOTS OF LOVE.....

Hello, this thread has been inactive. hope folks are doing well. I am posting on behalf of my mother. She was diagnosed ER- pr+ (12%) and her 2 -. She is being treated as TNBC and endocrine therapy will be considered post chemo.
-
Hey, LoveMom65.
I was diagnosed June 19 with IDC ER-, PR 4%, HER2 neg. I wonder if there are any more of us around now.
-
I was pr + 40 % but am not doing hormonal therapy. Finished chemo and rads in April 2018
-
I was 0% pr but 95% er, so I did AI therapy which shows marked beneficial results for my situation.
-
I was triple negative. My Progesterone was .44. So I guess that is considered TN
