Photo Dynamic Therapy/ Hyperthermia
I wanted to share a bit of my story in hopes that it may help people recently diagnosed. When I was diagnosed, I stopped eating. I fasted for a month. Water and raw juice, did parasite cleanse, and herbal cleanse for vital organs. The second month, I took multiple supplements to include Co-Q-10, Aloe Vera, Iodine, grape seed extract, vit D & C, tumeric, brocolli extract, kombucha mushroom tea, Ip-6 with mitake mushrooms, fresh berry blends, etc. Basically I was looking at building my immune system and eliminating toxins. At the same time, I was going through the process of beginning treatment at a university hospital. I originally felt the mass and ended up going for mam, ultrasound & biopsy. What really disturbed me was that I received a letter in the mail from my insurance company stating that I was approved for a mastectomy before anyone had sat down and given me a diagnosis. I was pretty upset and decided to go and get a second opinion before I had even officially got the first. When I called to inform original hospital I was going for second opinion, they were more concerned about losing my business in relation to the surgery. Keep in mind, I still had not sat down with anyone where they looked me in the eyes and said" you have breast cancer". Got official diagnosis with second opinion, recommended sentinal node biopsy, mastsectomy with reconstructive surgery on right breast only, left breast clear per biopsy. The night before the sent node biopsy, I was physically shaking, I had a strong intuitive feeling that the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes already. The fear was so strong, I had concerns about my ability to get through all this without dying of a panic attack. That's how I felt anyways. I had been doing research continuously on-line (the medical people hate this). I was getting on science daily, clinical trials, you name it. I was looking for a way not to have such a drastic surgery. I kept looking at the horror stories on the reconstructive forums, etc. I ended up canceling all appts and going for Photo Dynamic Therapy/ hyperthermia in late April. I had ultrasound the last day of treatment. The cancer showed no blood flow to it. It was dead. Now the dead cells have to work their way out of my body over the next few months and new tissue should grow back. I am having 4 month check up in Sept because I'm anxious about whether or not this has worked. I feel great, just always a bit nervous. I would like my case documented somewhere, so here it is. The kicker is that I was bit by a brown recluse spider twice while I was away for treatment, on the same breast just below the cancer. That's another story for another day. Thanks for listening. Hope it helps someone out there.

TaraMarie--your gut feeling sounds like what I went through. I have a different dx, but I felt that the "experts" were not the only voice to heed. Anyway, I would love to see your progress and feel that we are kindred in our proactive approach to this nasty disease.
Please let us know how you are doing and I will do the same.
Where do you go for PDT and hyper? I live in Calif so I think there are places here. I had a lumpectomy so I wonder if there is a place for me to try this approach as adjuvant therapy of some sort.

I went to Lase Med in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. I will continue to update as I have my follow ups. Take care.

Be vigilant Tara!
Listen to your instincts on what is going on with your body.
Has the cancer started coming out of your breast yet?
This happened to my friend who went there in July of 2008 . SHe was told the cancer was dead just like you. Well guess what? It was not dead. Now a year later she is in stage 4 it went to her lungs and uterus. Now she is in the middle of chemo. Since it had progressed so far she didn't have time to fool around and look for anything else. Chemo at this point is it.
If the cancer starts coming out will you please consider taking pictures of it. This will document whether it is really dead or not. My friends came out and it almost took over her whole breast and it is like living with an alien growing on you!
Ask if there is anyone for you to talk to at Lase Med who went through what you are. Lets see what you are told. My friend was told she was the only one who had made it that far, and that was in April of THIS YEAR!
I really do pray that it has worked for you and that you don't have to go through the shock of learning that you were lied to as my friend and her husband did.
Please keep us updated. If your breast starts getting red or hard please notify by posting.

I am 34 single. Never married no children. I have been diagnosed with DCIS grade 3, non-invasive about 6cm wide. I have done core biopsy and MRI.
There are 3 camps I have come to know:
Camp 1: The good folks of surgeons whose only - and only advice - is to do matectomy.
Camp 2: Good folks like Dr. Lorraine Day's therapy, Gerson Therapy, etc. who reject camp 1 as not knowing what they are talking about (which is true). They recommend healing things through natural way, nutrition, stress free env. etc.
Camp 3: The folks at Bicher institute who offering treatment through Hyperthermia (http://www.bichercancerinstitute.com/) and calling the folks in camp 1 as barbarians.
Can you please share your experience and any word of advice as which camp do you believe in, and for me to follow. Ideally I would like to follow camp 2 and camp 3 folks, and avoid the folks in camp 1.
Please advise and help.
Thank you.

4life, how on earth is the "dead" cancer supposed to "come out" of the breast? I am very sorry about your friend.
I googled the clinic and found this: http://lase-med-inc-warning.blogspot.gr/
