I have so far no period, 5 months after chemo.

I wonder what kind of potential problem for women with chemo menopause? Anyone knows?

Hi, just putting in my experience, as we all know, there are lots of different chemo regimen and also we do all react differently to it.

In my case. I had about 10 months without periods, due to fec-t High dose chemo (3x FEC then 3xTax). The oncologist did not think that I would get them back, but they did. I had just turned 40 when I had my chemo. I have just turned 42.

I did have very agravated joint pain during my menopause, this did improve when my hormones came back. Still have pains that seem to have come directly or indirectly from chemo, but the menopause symptoms are gone. Periods went from regular to irregular now, so I woudn't be suprised if I had irregular ones until I get my "proper" menopause now but am glad to have them back, as it clearly helps my joints to have the hormones kikking round. I am tri neg.

Good luck with your treatement ladies.

    All my best.

Hi - I'm 36 and also er pr neg.  I finished chemo Oct 08 and rads Nov 08,  I had a period in Dec, Jan, Feb then nothing since!  I was having really bad hot flushes so had my hormone levels checked and was told that as I had virtually no oestrogen and I was post menopause - a few weeks later My Oncologist checked hormone levels again as my hot flushes had ended and the results were normal for somebody mid cycle who was NOT post menopause!  Anyway No period yet!

I am 42 and had been on the pill that makes you stop having periods.  Sorry I can't remember the name with my chemo brain and all.  Maybe it will come to me before I am done with this post. The reason I went on it was for irregular and very heavy periods.  I questioned the OB dr at the time if I might be starting menopause and he said NO I was too young. I stopped taking it immediately at dx and still haven't had a period 7 months later.  My mother started menopause in her early 40's.  Is there any reason I need to know whether I am in menopause or not?

I am 36 and had a period two weeks after chemo was over.....

That was in November.....nothing in December and not yet in January.

I did ask my Oncologist if that was normal to start that soon and she said YEP....whatever ones body does is considered NORMAL....because everyone is different

LOTS OF LOVE.....MAY GOD BLESS US ALL

5 months after chemo my period came back. I spotted lightly for about a week prior. So Nov and Dec and now in Jan I am 2 weeks early. Who knows?? I was told more than likely my periods wouldn't return but they have.
