Vd test 25(oh) vs 1,25

Hi Ladies,

Long story short I've read everywhere that the 0h25 test is correct test form measuring D3. I requested an OH25 from my dr. and when I got to the lab they said his notes ordered the 1,25. I asked the lab tech to give me the 25(OH) so he did.

Next day I get a call from my drs. office and they wanted me to come back to the lab so they could do the 1,25. I explained my reasoning and they still insisted. My drs. nurse said that the (oh)25 test was included as part of the 1,25.

My understanding is that even if that's true the results are done differently and the oH25 won't be accurate. Last night I wrote up no less than 10 different sites that said the1,25 was the wrong test for Vit. D3 level.

I don't want to argue with my PCP, so for my own peace of mind I may order the home test that is provided by a lab that does the testing and returns the results.

Has anyone heard differently about the D3 test or that the results for the oh25 done within the 1,25 are accurate?
