Hi New to group
Hi all knew here and I had some questions not sure if any of you could answer but thought I would try. About 2 wks ago I noticed my right breast had ALOT of tenderness, pain, itching and also I have 2 patchy spots by the areola which itch also. It has a light red/purple color. I also noticed at times it feels likes it got a shooting/stabbing pain that runs through it. I dont know if its normal but I have noticed to I have alot of I guess u can say little vessels that r red/purple to on it. I went to my dr she gave me penicellin but it didnt help I had a mamma and a ultrasound but it showed NOTHING. So know I have another appt with my dr on monday. I noitced I have pain to that gos up my armpit now. My right nipple is facing downward and it appears to go completly flat at times to. I had a central core biopsy done in 2007 through the nipple and I had my milk glands taken out because I was told I had something called adeonia diease of the gland so I would never be able to breast feed again in that breast nor would I have any feeling or sensation in it, but as you can see Its hurting and causing problems. I dont know if any of this is normal and I have read on the Inflammatory breast cancer and I do seem to have some of the signs, but I like to think POSITIVE about things and hope and pray its nothing. SO I guess what I;m trying to say is if anyone could tell me if they had IBC what kind of signs did they have and any info would be great. Thank You all

Hi there....not everyone has the same symptoms and not everyone has the "classic symptoms." For me, I had what I thought was a bit of a rash (?from my hubbys moustache) and a week to the day later, that same breast was HUGE, red, swollen--like 2 times the size of the other one. It was painful from being so large but I didn't have stabbing pain. I did have some itching. I thought it was an infection and called the Dr and she had me come in (thank God) because she too thought it was an infection but sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound and no lie, within a week, a 5cm+ tumor had popped up. YIKES! I did eventually get the classic "orange peel" look of the areola too. And usually IBC is not detected early by mammogram--if I would have had a mammogram even in the 6 months proceeding this it would have shown NOTHING. All that to say, DEMAND further testing to rule out anything scary. Hang in there...

DEMAND a skin punch biopsy-- that is the best way to test for IBC. Here is hoping your results are benign! Tami

I agree with Idaho. And, don't let them put it off for weeks. IBC can spread really fast. Good luck.

Hi everyone and thank you for the replies. I seen my Dr today and she said she didnt want to take any chances and wants me to see a surgeon asap. I'm just waiting for the call to for the appt now.I noticed today I seem to have some dimpling/rather the skin starting to look like a peel of an ornage best way to decribe it, like little pin holes on a poration of my skin I also have noticed resently that my areola and nipple are a different color the my left breast its like got red in it but also its darker then other one. Anyway again thank you all.
