Betsy
Hi ladies,
I went to the hospital yesterday to give moral support to my DS and BIL who was having surgery. He is home and doing well. I am asking to start a prayer chain for a young woman I met while visiting the nurses who took such good care of me when I spent the month of June in the hospital.
One of my favorites was on duty and she said I looked wonderful and proceeded to tell me about Betsy. She is only 27 and from a Mennonite family here in Harrisonburg VA. She too developed problems after her 1st round of chemo. I asked Nicci if I could talk to her never knowing the man in the hallway was her father. Nicci thought it was a good idea because I was a success story and had been so near death. She turned and saw Betsy's dad and introduced us. He also though it a good idea as he had been helplessly eavesdropping. Nicci introduce me to Betsy and briefly told her my story and then she turned things over to me.
As I drew close to Betsy's bed she lifted a frail hand and put it in mine. Although terribly ill I marveled at her beauty. She looked like a petal that had been blown in the wind. She was bald with only a little stubble and was so weak she looked at me through half-lidded blue eyes clouded with pain. My heart nearly stopped as I listened to her whispered story so much like my own. When she finished, I told her that I too had thought that I wouldn't see tomorrow but I did. I explained that she had great care and wonderful nurses. I told her I would start a prayer chain for her and she had to believe that she would get better. It was the first time I saw her smile.
I am asking that you help keep that smile on her precious face. Please pray that God gives her strength and courage to go through what she must. Please pray for healing. I thank you so much! I will be going to my onc tomorrow and my sister and I want to pay Betsy another visit. I would like to truthfully tell her that people are praying for her.
Sincerely to my sisters in bc,
Nancy

Thank you ladies,
When I knew in my heart that I was going to live then I asked God to use me and He has in so many ways. I still stumble and fall, sometimes I lose my temper (funny though, it's rare now), I cuss, and I disappoint myself sometimes so I know I disappoint God, but I truely love Him and I know He loves me and I am just one of many too numerous to count. And I know that both of you are too. May God bless you!

Prayers for Betsy.

Of course, I will add Betsy to my prayer list. I pray in night when I get in bed, and sometimes during the day. She is too young to endure such pain. Maryiz

Thank you ALL so much and a heartfelt thanks from Betsy. She looked better today but still tires so easily. I saw that smile again when I told her about you. Her father wishes to thank you as well. I will try to stop in every time I am in Harrisonburg. I live an hour away. They have no idea how long Betsy will be in the hospital but I pray she gets to come home soon. Thanks again. You are all so loving. God bless each of you!

I believe Betsy's last name is Morris. She is on the 6th floor of Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg VA. I will try to get her room # and make sure about the name tomorrow before I leave. Bless you kbugmom. I can't think of any better medicine. The hospital is on Cantrell ave. if that helps. I'm sure the nurses would know Betsy on the 6th floor. It isn't a big hospital.
