Taxol

My friend who has BC is on Taxol and she started having severe, if not migraine headaches. Just wanted to know if this is common or if anybody else on Taxol did this and what helped  with the headaches. Her doctor just says it's just the Taxol but has not done anything about it, Thought maybe some of you wonderful ladies would know something. Do you think it's the Taxol and what do you think the doc should do for her? Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you, Bee

Bee, I only had migraines before I was diagnosed with breast cancer and they were hormonally caused.  I wonder if the taxol is causing a hormonal imbalance in your friend causing her headaches.  I would suggest if her oncologist won't do anything for her, that she sees her family doctor and see if there isn't something she could take as there are some great migraine headache medications.  I have also read that there are some things that help the hotflashes and nightsweats from the impact of tomoxophen, perhaps that would help her too.  Before anything I would think her family doctor would want her homrone levels checked. : )

Bee- Maybe you should post on an active topic, like July chemo 2009.

I was on Taxol 4 rounds but i didn't suffer from headaches or migraines. On that topic there are plenty of women with different chemo maybe you can find your answer there.
