Help Megan and Kathy Godsave Beat Stupid Breast Cancer
On October 23rd, I'll be participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk. I'll be walking in the memory of my sweet, amazing Mom..KATHY GODSAVE.
Most of you already know, but for those who don't, this event benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. Substantial advancement in breast cancer research, treatment, education and prevention in the last 25 years has resulted from Komen for the Cure grants. They are working hard to build a future without breast cancer, and I want to help them do so, but I need a little help.
I need to raise $2,300 in order to be able to walk in my Mother's memory. It's a lot of money, and I would greatly appreciate anything you might be able to give. You can donate online at http://www.the3day.org/goto/ilovekathygodsave , or you can call 800.996.3DAY to donate over the phone.
My sweet Mommy, Kathy Godsave, passed away just this year from breast cancer that had spread to her brain. She fought hard and never gave up. She is the sweetest, most special lady and is the love of my life forever and ever. I want to do something to honor her. I know she would be happy that I am doing this for her, and we would both so appreciate anything you're able to do. I hate asking people for money, and I know my Mom would too, but I feel like it's worth it for the cause. In the past, she has had two good friends walk in her honor, Anne Burman and Lucille Emerson, and she was so incredibly grateful for that. But please do not feel pressured to donate, if you can't help this year, maybe another year.
Without a cure, one in eight women in the U.S. will continue to be diagnosed with breast cancer. That's why I'm walking in the 3-Day, because everyone deserves a lifetime. My Mom lost her battle at 58. She deserved much, much more time. Breast cancer shows no mercy.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, and thank you for your support.
With Love,
Megan Godsave
