I was wondering if anyone has done 4 TCH treatments rather than 6.  I know there is alot of controversy about it.  My tumor was small .3mm  ER+ and HER2+.  Anyone else had my situation??   I have currently done 2 TCH treatments.  But I hear the last 2 treatments are the worst.  So I am wondering with the small size of my tumor, would it better to do 4 treatments.  If anyone has done 4 instead of 6 please could you let me know why you deceided to only do 4.  Did your onco suggest it?   Does anyone have any studies on 4 verses 6?   I'm really torn if I should do all 6 treatments.  Do the side effects outweigh the benefits?  I have asked my onco and she is "looking into it".    Thanks for all your help..........Tanya

There must be someone around who did 4 cycles; hopefully they will show up soon.  My onc wanted me to do only 4 cycles, but I refused and did 6 since there are no trials demonstrating the effectiveness of 4 cycles.  However, my tumor was much bigger than yours - 1.4 cm, so I was less willing to take any risk.  With your small tumor it might make sense.  Unfortunately, the data does not exist to help you with your decision.  Sorry I can't be of more help.

There is another thread on 4x vs 6x TCH. It wasn't that long ago so if you look back a few pages you might find it. 6x was in the BCIRG 006 study though the women in that study had larger tumors than us. There have been no study results with 4x or comparing results with 6 vs 4. My onc only wanted to do 6 because that has been tested.

I did 4. My onc said the studies showed 4 were standard in my situation. He doesn't believe in over treating.
