Period after Chemo.....Please help!
Hi there everyone! I havent been on here in a long time......I was diagnosed BC in 07, did very agressive chemo (AC, taxol, herceptin), and my period stopped immediately.....I went to my GYN about 3 months ago..we did a ultrasound of my ovaries, and they looked fine, without shrinkage. I also had labs done, and it showed i was in full menopause with barely any estrogen.....Of course when she called me i was absolutely devastated thinkning i would never ever be able to get pregnant, and have kids because i was in menopause....My GYN explained to me though that there was still a good chance my period would come back, and try not to stress over it.......Well today, i got the suprise of my life, I am now starting to spot and bleed ......Does this mean my perios is coming back? I took a home-ovulator test.....it also said i was strongly ovulating? Am i going crazy, or am i now fertile, and back to normal? THanks sooooooooooooooo much for listening and putting my mind at ease

Congratulations!!! I too was happy when I regained my period although I was 38 and ER/PR+. I didn't want to become menopausal so early; as if cancer hadn't taken enough already. I hope you are able to have babies and enjoy being a mother. Best wishes.

I did get my period after the first round of chemo but it was due again last Friday and nothing. I was having very strange menses around the time of dx and no bc pill. ..you could set your calendar to my period. ..they told me it wasn't related but of course I don't believe them.
Congrats and virtual champagne to you!!!! xo

Whoo hoo! I'm like Renata--was 38 and er/pr+, but sure was thrilled to have my body go back to some semblance of normal.
Who ever thought menstrating would be so exciting?

Yeah Nash! I was thinking the other day how pissed I was when I had my first period the day after turning 13, and how happy it made me to have it back at 38. Life is unpredictable, right?!!!

I finished 4AC and having my 2/12 weekly Taxols tomorrow. My period hasnt stopped yet! I guess thats a good thing considering I think its supposed to stop. Not sure if its because of being in shape before starting this or my age etc.
